Do you think a 210mm One up dropper post will fit in a size small Strive on?

Bought the strive on underdog and really love the bike if rides amazing would have preferred a gloss finish on the carbon but it will get a frame protection kit fitted anyway so not a deal breaker love the minimal display control setup and won't be using the flow app. Really love the setup dealing with the manufacturer direct for spare parts had a nightmare with dealers and my haibike and was keen to avoid repeating the experience happy to do all my own servicing and repairs

I’d not expect this until 2024 as the bike has only just been released - although I’m not sure how often Canyon update colours.

You're probably right. I love the Liquid Forest colour way but part of me wants to wait and see what is available in the near future
I made decision and ordered Linkglide+ drivetrain to Strive:ON CFR
• Shimano XT Linkglide RD-M8130 11-speed Rear Derailleur
• Shimano XT Linkglide SL-M8130 I-Spec EV 11-speed Shift Lever right
• Shimano CN-LG500 Linkglide 10/11-speed Chain with Quick-Link
• Shimano CS-LG700 11-speed Linkglide Cassette
Hopefully bike and other goodies will be here during next week.
Sure, just checking that was right. I think I'll run the 12 speed and see how I get on.
Good to know. I had some oil weep out when I undid mine, so panicked and leaned the bike forwards each time after that to stop any leaking out.
Is that 40mm or 60mm Muc-Off valve in that rear wheel?

I’ve never ridden Linkglide, however the Shimano 12spd is incredible and very robust. I’m averaging 1000miles per cassette and 500+miles per chain. The true magic is running AXS derailleur with the Shimano drive train, like butter!!

Well I’m sick of procrastinating so I’ve ordered a medium underdog with the 750w battery. Ticks all the boxes and I think it looks stunning in Matt black. I’ll probably stick an xt derailleur on and some hope brakes on over the coming months but happy with the rest of the spec. Just hope I can get used to riding with a bike set to eu speed limit after 3100 miles on a Shimano set to USA 20mph cut off?!

I always rode eu bikes, for mountain biking the limit is no problem, on the street more would be useful sometimes but I never missed it that much that I would have bought one of the available tuning options.
btw maybe you should rather invest in xt shifters than derailleur. The magic happens in the shifter.
I found the db8 surpringsly good enough after breaking them in on my first ride (like 20+ hard brakes in a row)
Don't forget the Shimano HG / DT Swiss freehub driver body for your Linkglide cassette. Am interested how Linkglide will work

Yea I’ll prob do the shifter also. Is the standard dropper any good? I have read some good things about the Sram brakes so will give them a chance. Ref the speed I think it will be a blessing not having a screen with the speed on so that may help

Anyone can post a picture or just explain where the Oneup needs exactly to be shaved to fit fully in the Strive head tube?
Also the bottom plastic plug does not fit. I guess one can live without.

Need to shave this down to make it fit. Run a blade and remove the width of the plastic until if slides into the steerer without jamming on the steerer.

I guess he means the bit you told him to shave down.
Does the small capsule need shaving, or just the big one?

Small capsule fits fine without modification.
What swung it for you in the end? I've had both the Strive and the Spectral in my basket about 5 times each then changed my mind! The spectral appeals for the 900wh battery, I often do 6-8 hour rides and to be honest the Strive is more bike than I need. But the spectral chain rubbing on the chain stay in some gears would annoy the hell out of me as would pedal strikes which people complain about. I also worry about the shimano motor. Just need someone to tell me which one to order

Ultimately however I justified it the strive just appealed more. I think a lot is because every review I’ve read or watched believe it’s one of the very best. In this generation the Bosch motor sounds much more appealing. In the past on analogue bikes the negatives for a more capable (bigger travel) bike on the downs were the climbs, but it seems this is an amazing climber. Robs review and him being blown away makes me think it must be amazing
And I much prefer the matt black to the matt green or gloss black on the spectral
Trek rail was up there but cable routing looked a bit messy, the battery door looks a bit clumsy and there is lots of talk of rattles and fixes needed and talk of new geometry not being so fun. And I really prefer mullets being 5ft 10
Specialised turbo Levo looked good but the same money landed me aluminium instead of carbon.
Also having had other canyon road bikes I enjoy the excitement of a canyon box dropping off at my house
Plus the research is wasting far too much of my free time

For ebike use and the DT Swiss hybrid wheels you need a stronger full steel driver(137g weight for comparison).

Also u need to be careful which system you want the Dt Swiss ratchet or the classic 3 pawl design, u need the one your rear hub uses. If in doubt best ask Canyon and Dt Swiss.

Decided on Sunday night (10pm) to order a Strive On CFR. On Wednesday morning the DHL truck pulled up and delivered. Wow. Impressive logistics.
Completed the build and switched to tubeless and went off for a quick 15 minutes setup ride today. Well, 1200 vertical meters later (yes, that escalated quickly...) on our local flowtrails I am absolutely stoked. Up or down, that thing is a banger (yes Rob, you're right). So easy to ride, so nimble considering weight and travel. Wow.
Having bought a couple of Canyons over the years (Gravel, Race Bikes) it is amazing how professional and well thought through their business model is nowadays. If you're a bit of a mechanic yourself Canyon supplies so much more information and support than most traditional bike manufacturers. This is the future of bike business, no doubt.

Where are you based? I had a totally different experience. Completed my purchase on Thurs 01st and UPS didn't seem to get it until Monday and it was immediately marked as delayed and has sat in Frankfurt ever since.
Not sure why some are sent with DHL and others UPS, bur UPS have been rubbish so far.
Currently says delivery Monday, but 11 days transit from Germany is atrocious. I can only assume they're sending it via snail.
Yeah, I am based in Germany so that's a home game for Canyon. Still, logistics have improved massively over my first experience with them (1o years ago).
I like the dropper, no problems so far. I often read bad things about sram brakes but personally I can live with almost any of the strong brakes of either manufacturer although usually I like Magura most. But I will stick to the db8 since I also like their kind of “raw” look.
In general I am always trying not to overthink things and just ride, shift and brake the bikes
