2023 Orbea Wild

I may receive some negative feedback for this, but I would like to suggest starting a new thread specifically for discussing wild paint defects. Personally, I would prefer to see pictures of people's bikes rather than reading about their complaints.

I agree and have started a new thread just for paint/quality issues - 2023 Orbea Wild paint/quality issues

My M-Team was finally delivered today. My "local" distributor took 20 days before they sent it to me(!)

All components were supposed to be XT (standard for M-team), but I got SLX cassette, SLX shifter and deore chain.
Not the end of the world, but still annoying! (n)

A quick follow-up to my mini-rant:
Just got a message from the store where I bought the bike that they have sent me the correct XT-parts.

Pics to add some color:

Forgive me if it's been posted, but didn't come up in a search. Any ideas of a rough weight difference between the Carbon and Aluminum versions?

Have a 2023 Wild on order and decided to go with the SRAM AXS Transmission set-up which I purchased separately since Orbea does not offer this option yet. Has anyone installed a coil shock on the 2023 model? Have Push ELEVENSIX's on my other emtbs but unfortunately they don't offer a Wild compatible shock. Due the upside-down design on how the Fox air shock are installed and frame design, not sure if the 2023vWild can accommodate a coil shock. Looks like Fox or Estoria may be only option if they fit.

Sent email to Push a couple months back. No response on a shock for the ‘23 Wild. I’m running an Ohlins TTX22m.2.

Thanks for the input! Did you ride the 2023 Wild with the Fox Air Shock before switching to the Ohlins? How do you like the way it performs.

I did one ride on the Float X. I knew before I got the bike I was going to go coil. I ride lots of desert rocks so prefer the more supple feel of a coil and more linear action thru most of the stroke.

Is it possible to set a charge limit like you can in Specialized’s Mission Control app?

Would you be able to provide the mounting hardware size you used?

Looking to install a coil shock for the 2023 Wild I have on order. Wanted to see if anyone has the size mounting hardware needed for the non-trunion side of the shock. Have the White Paper provided by Orbea and cannot see this info anywhere. Unfortunately I don't have new bike yet and therefore cannot measure myself.

I am on to go to buy a M10 Wild Large. Current I have the Rise M10 XL more in XC Trail setting that has a shorter stem but after measuring Wild in Large it will fit.

Will it be an overlap to buy Wild or is how Im thinking a good choose for more "all mountain" rides?
Will it work also in a XC Trail environment or is it to much of a bike?

My other idea is to buy the H15 Rise in Large and make more into an enduro?

Okay, idiot question of the day...

What is the deal with the rear axle?? I know I took it off to set up tubeless when I first got the bike a few weeks ago but I went to take it off last night and had to unscrew it with a 6mm from the drive side?? I would think I would remember doing that a few weeks ago? I could have sworn I used a 6mm on the non-drive side but it was not fitting.

Mezzer 180mm

One up 240mm

The damper selection is very limited.

DVO Jade fits in but compression not accessible.

Rock Shox Air RC2T 2023 rebound and air valve accessibility modest, compression adjustment probably hits the frame when compressing.

CC Kitsuma Coil / Air no assembly possible.

Öhlins ttx 22m coil with normal AGB fits.

Manitou Mara Pro Accessibility of all adjusters and valve is good. Adjusting the pressure level is difficult, I will disassemble it.

Brake disc magnet prepared, cost me 1 hour of my life to pull this through the chainstay together with a Hope steel flex.

The routing of the lines through the headset 🙈🤮 this means that if you remove the seat post, you have to remove the motor for installation because the outer shell cannot be pushed far enough.

I’ve found the Wild checks ALL the boxes. If you’re ready to up your trail game the Wild is the next step. 12-16 MPH on a XC trail is mind melting . Eats rocks and roots like they aren’t even there.

I second that, an animal of a shredding machine nothing stands in its way. Ride last night 31 mls 3550 ft climbing and got back with 62% bat.
Oh BTW the paintwork on mine is mint as good as any bike I seen.

That's a really low stack with no stem spacers, do you prefer to have it setup like that or did the bike ship like that?
