• Warning!!

Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Deristricting EMTB's can also add increased loads for motors and batteries. Riding above the local law limit may reclassify the bike as a low-powered bike, requiring insurance, registration and a number plate.

Be aware of your local country laws. Many laws prohibit use of modified EMTB's. It is your responsibility to check local laws. Ignoring it, has potential implications to trail access, and risk of prosecution in the event of an accident.

MTT being expensive as usual :ROFLMAO:

In any case.. if you're OK with a 50% bump in assistance speed limit, then there's also this: Instinct/Altitude PowerPlay A30/A50/A70/C70/C90 - PLANET3 (please read the DESCRIPTION in detail).

27 users (for now) running it on 2022 Rocky e-bikes without any issues.
I’ve had one of these on the rocky. Lasted about 2 months before it disintegrated. It’s quite fragile. I also had to 3D print a new mount for the sensor to make it work. Having said all that, it still one of the only options out there, so what can you do.

I'd turn your attention to the bottom of the page at PLANET3 - mechanical e-bike derestriction device regarding the warranty. If there was a problem with the device, you simply send an email to me and it's taken care of. However, saying something is fragile and disintegrates of its own volition after 2 months is simply a false statement. Especially when taken into account that the problem was more than likely the contact between the ring gear and the sun gear against which I warn very clearly in the installation instructions (in both written and video format). Still, around 10-15% of users make this mistake and have a learning curve that requires two devices. Recently (more or less), I recorded another in depth video explaining this problem and how to use the new tool that's aimed to help people who seem to not be able to use their eyeballs :D - So.. you can even post a photo of your disintegrated PLANET3 here (if you haven't thrown it away) and we can publicly go through what went wrong and how to avoid it for anyone else. Point is, this is not fragile at all (if not in frictional contact under pressure) and survives everything from the Arizona desert to the Finnish winter (so long as it's installed properly and an empty device test is carried out to rule out the frame/sensor touching anything).

נראה שעכשיו יש שבב להגביל את הגבלת המהירות במערכת Dyname 4.

How can I bring it to Israel?

Does somebody have real world experiences with the MTT tune module ? Here in EU I am stuck with 25 km/h speed limit that bothers me since on a straight line it seems that every single biker can overtake me in a heartbeat :D

I asked my local dealer if it would be possible to have a Canadian software running on my bike (which can travel up to 31 km/H) They said that they would be able to do that but I would loose a warranty on my bike. And I don't want to do that.

The install /uninstall process of the MTT tune seems to be pretty simple and I like the fact that the speed shown on the display won't be manipulated and will continue to show correct data. And if I ever decide to restore my bike back to the original it seems to be just unplug and go.

What are your thoughts ? Are you running your RM's with speed derestriction ? what are some other unintrusive options in regards to speed derestrict my Rocky Mountain Powerplay dyname 4.0 ?

As stated a few posts above, PLANET3 still works, is unintrusive BUT the speed display would be 66% of real i.e. 1/3 less. I'm not sure how that's a dealbreaker for anything other than going uphill, but even then.. I've got a Levo with a MasterMind TCU which displays speed at the same location as the Rocky and I barely ever look at it because you have to take your eyes away off the trail. In any case, it's completely up to the user. :)
