• Warning!!

Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Deristricting EMTB's can also add increased loads for motors and batteries. Riding above the local law limit may reclassify the bike as a low-powered bike, requiring insurance, registration and a number plate.

Be aware of your local country laws. Many laws prohibit use of modified EMTB's. It is your responsibility to check local laws. Ignoring it, has potential implications to trail access, and risk of prosecution in the event of an accident.

Hi,

With the new Rise Alu and the bigger 540 Wh battery, does it mean you will be able to derestrict it and get the same power as a regular EP8?
I have my carbon Rise set att 85 Nm, but the power is far from a regular EP8 because it can't seem to draw enough power from the small battery.

Cheers!

Maybe the battery or/and the firmware messing with it.

I read somewhere else that the 360wh battery in the Carbon Rise cannot provide enough current for 85Nm, so in reality, although you can select 85 in STUnlocker, the battery can't provide sufficient current to provide so it is a futile exercise.

The 504wh battery might prove differently. I am no electronics engineer so can't comment.

I am happy with the Rise as is. My other bike has the E8000 and only has 70Nm anyway...

It's not enough to set the torque to 85Nm.
You will need to raise the max watt in each level to 500watt (or 250/350/500 in the 3 levels)
