It depends how your local trails looks. Mine are EXTREAMLY muddy a large portion of the year and the 0.3mm pad to rotor clearance is a pain to adjust. One of the big mtb website (enduro-mtb.com maybe?) did a group test and all Magura breaks needed to be bleed at least once during the test period. If I remember 1 Sram and 0 Shimano needed bleeding. Think it was 20ish bikes and pretty even split between break brands.

I'd need to be pretty dam fast, to out ride the Code brakes on my 2019 Trance. Yes the pistons eventually needed to be cleaned, and no adjustment for the contact point at the lever, is 
. Would I replace them for lack of power... hell no.
Also being able to swap levers left to right without breaking a line is super.

But lets get back to the topic and talk about the BIKE: I went to the LBS to get an update of the software in order Smart Assist can be enabled by pressing either UP or DOWN on the remote for two sconds. Works fine afterwards.
There was an update offered via the App too, but I decided to skip it and let the LBS do it as I had to stop by anyway.
Though it would be interesting to know if this update would have done it too...

just order an E+ 1 medium. The shop would get back to me with an order confirmation. Delivery around w4-5. E+0 where all sold out here in Sweden. Apparently giant require payment in full on putting in an order for bikes. So full payment upfont.

G'day all. Thanks for all the info shared on this thread, it's been great to read.
Short story long, I picked up my Large Reign E+ 1 yesterday. I'd never ridden an emtb before so I wasn't sure what to expect. The brakes need to bed in, so I rode an easier trail, XC but with some decent chunk rock.
A few thoughts from my first ride.
* Heavy to bunny hop and pop, UNTIL I started using the motor to help, when I gave a pedal stroke to initiate the hop/pop it propelled it forward and up - it felt much like back wheel hopping in trials. Need to play with this now, but I think it will be great fun. Same for power wheelies out of corners, learning to use the motor seems key. Lots to learn.
* Climbing - nuts. Tech climbing was too much fun, it carried speed up rocks that normally require careful entry speed, weighting, and power application to get up. The Reign E+ was getting me up techy sections so much faster and easier. I can see it will change what I will want to ride, tech climbing will be awesome. I was actually breathing harder than normal because it gives you incentive to hit stuff faster (and spin more). Road and fire-road climbs were just awesome. The motor was much happier when my cadence was up, so I am re-learning to spin.
* Singletrack with mild techy bits - I kept arriving at the usual slower flat and uphill corners MUCH faster than normal, which totally changed the feel of the trail. It was much more intense than usual, and huge amounts of fun, flat and mild uphill became more like dh - drifties everywhere. Surprisingly, it steered better than my normal (160r/180f 650b) bike, and I didn't notice the weight being an issue even at slower speeds on tighter sections of track. That said, if they build a sub 20kg version one day, of course it will be more agile, but this bike is agile - I was worried when I first picked it up that it would be a ship and not change direction, but once I was pedalling it was great.
* Drops - rode one 6ftish drop, was stable and smooth.
* 29er front - amazing, the wagon wheel just smoothed out the trail, and made steep tech rock roll downs much much easier than on my normal mtb.
* Only one jump, a faster gap, not steep, the bike was noticeably heavier than usual, but was far more stable than my normal mtb, and cleared the gap fine.
That's all I can think of for now, hoping to bed the brakes in properly and then get it on some steeper, faster local trails next week to test it properly.

@Tim gosnold - regarding your question on Insta about the range of the 750wh battery: I haven't managed to run it until it was fully empty. After 1400m of climbing in Smart Assist mode on steep trails I still had 25% left. If I extrapolate this to a 100% it would give me ~1850m of ascend, which sounds resonable because I can get 1600m out of the 625Wh battery when using Eco/Basic mode.
With my 500Wh spare battery I`m getting the same range as with the Trance X / SX e+ (1100-1400m, depending on temperature, rider input, assist mode etc.).

The Giant e-Tracker hub on the E+ 2 is an OEM made by Formula. I did brake two of them 
with 11-speed on the Trance SX e+ in the highest gear because of too much torque. Shouldn't happen so easy on 12-speed anymore. E+ 1 doesd have OEM DT-Swiss
Stem lenght varies based on availabilty. My medium did come with 40mm stem, but I changed to 50mm straight away to adjust to my sweet spot in terms of reach.

I guess you can't have it all....It's just a Giant bottle, 500ml I think, the bike shop wacked it on for me. My frame a large, a 750ml will not fit, it's a tad annoying for summer because it gets pretty warm here and you lose a lot of fluid, but I'll just use a camelbak, no worries at all.Which water bottle is that, any recommendations? @Rob Rides EMTB - there are some reports the battery would drain quicker than expected.
Other riders claim the PW-X3 is not as powerfull as the PW-X2, cannot compete with Bosch Gen 4 or E8000/EP8.
I cannot agree on any of these statements as my Reign e+ 1 2020 just works flawlessly.
But maybe you can have an eye on that while you do your testing.
