Hi everyone, now that Specialized has blocked Blevo I'm looking for an alternative to the Gen3 and this New Reign 2021 looks interesting. Online I found something, but not much on the top of the range E+ Mullet 29 + 27.5 new SyncDrive Pro² motor (powered by Yamaha), 85 Nm, EnergyPak Smart Integrated 740 WH, compatible with EnergyPak Plus etc ... still officially presented, but many sites have now published the characteristics, only the official photos are missing, but a photo has also been released.

Hello,

I already saw it on other 'locked' forums ... Nice pic. Even if it's impossible to watch the 'full motor body'. I wonder if it is the pw-x3 inside, or a boosted version of the old syncdrive pro ?

Bases seems shorter than before, or it is an illusion because of the longer frame ?

Fox float x2 Factory but there is a spring... it could be dhx2 ?

Are you sure the new Giant engine is Yamaha? on the new gravel giant 2022 bike it says "new SyncDrive Pro system powered by Shimano Ep8", with support up to 400% and 85 Nm

I think it's best to understand Syncdrive Pro as a system which is adding software features and sensors to a motor. This transforms a Yamaha into a Giant motor, and this methodology is now being used for the recently announced E-Gravel Bike which is build araound the EP8.

Does anyone have geometry specs yet?
I have a 2020 E Reign and was already thinking when its time for a new front fork to go 29er but was concerned it would screw up the bikes handling. Josh Carlson did it to his stock frame and raced it, maybe the prototype for the new E Reign.
I'd like to see shorter chainstays and a shorter wheelbase for a little better tight turning and fast switchback handling. otherwise this bike I got has been awesome.

dumdum-di-doooommm ... Nice looking bikes, indeed.
Especially the +1.
But Yamaha or not Yamaha, for the syndrive pro² ?
It's not indicated on the technical data sheet.
And the old link (technologies > syncdrive pro) points to an old page (from old syncdrive pro, based on pw-x).

Is giant 'locked' by an agreement with Yamaha, till Yam officially anounce its pw-x3 ?
Is the syncdrive pro² an evolution of its predecessor, designed / engineered by giant but not based on the upcoming pw-x3 from Yamaha ?

when it says 750Wh battery, is that a single battery, or with a range extender?

Reign E+1 detail picture reveals "Powered by Yamaha" ?

Wow, you have good eyes ! I would never have find it alone. Old eyes inside ;)

Someone else (E-Ride on ebike-mag forum, credits to him / her for this) found too. He linked the following image. And effectively, after zooming on the motor, some can read 'by yamaha'. E-bike forums are full of nice and helpfull peoples, aren't they ?

GIANT by Yamaha.jpg

Fingers crossed then as the us site doesn't have it posted yet....we will see what the us specs are

The intro of this article claims a lighter reign

Do you have any information about this Fast Charger? It would be really handy to pack for multi-day rides

Nobody has information in Italy, not even the Giant sellers in my area
