Does anyone know if a 230x65 2021 dpx2 fit in a medium 9.7? It's currently at 57.5 and was thinking about extending stroke to 65.

Just put a fox dpx2 230x65 in my trek rail 5 Large frame.
Everything fits fine, no interference with frame and leverage can go to its maximum travel without hitting the seat tube. Ah… and mino link is in low position!!!
Awesome!

Good job??, some helpful information for people is I'm pretty sure if that was a carbon frame the seat tube- seat stay bridge clearance would be alot tighter/iffy with a 65mm stroke

With 65 shock size, what is the distance between the motor cover and ground? How much it is changed?

I’ve checked trek rail size ( which is rated for a 150mm rear travel) and a friend of mine Scott ransom eride 910 (which is rated for 180mm rear travel. Well, the major differences between these bikes is BB height (bottom bracket to ground). Both have a Bosch motor. Trek rail has a 34cm bb height in low configuration (Large frame).
Scott ransom 34.9 in its lowest configuration (large frame too)
Less than 1cm difference between these bikes and of course 1cm travel more for Scott ransom. So I won’t bother about ground clearance with my new 170mm travel on my bike .

Great Setup, What Fork/Travel are you running? When I first got my Rail 7 in March I threw on the DPX2 230x65mm that I had pulled from my Orbea Rallon. Worked great but I was getting too many pedal strikes in low so I moved it to high position. Since then I've went with a 2021 Fox 38 170 up front & DHX2 coil rear with165mm cranks and it's even better with zero pedal strikes since. Part of that I'm sure was just getting used to the bike but now It's just as capable of a descender as my long stroked Orbea Rallon 170/170 and Evil Wreckoning V3 170/165. Rails are amazing bikes, not sure why Trek didn't go bigger on rear travel from the factory.

My fork is a rockshox zeb ultimate with 170mm travel. Have you got pedal strikes while climbing technical or even on rough downhill?
I had pedal strikes with bike original setup only when climbing, when swapped the fork for the zeb everything goes better!

I have Zeb 170 on Trek Rail also, I have XL frame. It is not good for steeply uphill, but everything else is amousing :)

Just on technical climbs but pretty much zero strikes now. No problems with front wheel lift when steep climbing but I also run my saddle a bit forward to improve seating position.

The front with 190 is oversized on Rail, isn't it? Feelings?
The battery lock doesnt like big jumps...

Axle to Crown with the fork at 190 is only 4mm taller than my Fox 38 170mm.... 588mm vs 584mm. Zeb 170 A2C is 586mm
that's right, also dh forks are very adjustible, you can change the stack height with just 6 bolts.

PSA: Cane Creek Double Barrels are a no-go as well due to piggyback size. I suspected it and got proof today when I had a chance to verify on basis of an older CCDB View attachment 38940

Any thoughts on XL frame? Is the picture taken when suspension was in fully bottomed?

Does anyone know if 2021 fox dhx2 230x65 will fit in a 2021 9.8 large? How much rear travel will it have?
My rock shox air is losing air and oil. I’m running a 180 zeb ultimate front.

Nice, it looks like you still have room for the water bottle.
Out of curiosity, are you riding 160 or 170 mm of travel on the fork? mino link on the high position?
Zeb 170 with mono link on high. Climb pretty good without pedal strike. I liked it
