Hi,
What do you think about the Fox components of the comp carbon? Ive read a few good opinions even if its more low end at the fox range.

I don't think so. I agree that you/we definitely used to be L. I Haven't tried the new L, but I think we now can use both. And I think the ridping position will be quite different between the two. I usually size down on emtbs so I was quite happy with the M.

So I popped into to Berkshire cycles to take a look - (like everyone else it seems the shop was buzzing). I agree it would be possible to ride either M or L, the L felt right for me.

I’ve just ordered a carbon comp for “my wife” (well she might get to ride it sometimes ?). Does the Fox rear shock have the auto sag feature ? I really liked the idea when we tried the 2018 levo.

No it doesn’t,unfortunately.

It’s not even got a handy scale on the side of the shock so you can tell what your set at.Bit of an oversight there if you ask me.

I'm a future owner of an expert 2019, I just ordered a new one from my dealer, I'll probably ride my old 2018 till november, let's hope Blevo will work on 2019 models as soon as possible

That fork looks like it's already 160mm? I know it's supposed to be stock 150mm but have you actually measured it Rob?

Just returned from my lbs and spotted this beauty

Just did London to Brighton off road, 75 miles. First battery lasted 42 miles, that was on Eco which is set at 35%/35%. I could have done it at around 20%/20% to get better range I reckon as 35% was too much on the flats.

So would you think if I am most worried about hills, probably the Shimano motor would be a better choice for me?

I like the Shimano motor but it’s noisy and doesn’t have the torque of a Bosch or Brose motor. Also it can get contaminated with dirt much more easily than every motor we have serviced in the shop.
I rode the new bike a couple of times at Specialized and also this morning and never noticed the motor disengagement issue the old bike had.

which size should the dropper post be?
website of specialized says the size of the dropper post of the comp (x-fusion) is 34.9mm but usually the biggest size of dropper posts is 31.6mm (e.g. fox transfer factory)..

will 31.6mm fit on the levo?

Do you have any experience with the Yamaha motor? Like the graph above appears to suggest - people say power of the Yamaha motor falls rapidly with increasing cadence. Would you consider this an issue?

Rode an aluminum comp this morning. I can’t believe how light this bike felt and I went 9 miles farther than I normally do with my old Expert aluminum.
I actually considered getting the comp alloy today and building another General Levo, but I can wait for an Expert at employee pricing

Not measured it, just assumed it was 150. Will have a look at some point, bike is filthy now after today’s ride!

Yes I would at this point. Heavier riders tend to spin the cranks at a lower cadence than lighter smaller riders. I rode one of our demo Haibikes and it wasn’t an issue for me until I tried spinning up a really loose climb.

the levo with brose is not to beat, smooth..

Where do you get this idea from?
Preferred cadence is a choice and it has nothing to do with weight at all.
Experienced riders tend to have a better pedalling action ergo can often spin faster more comfortably.
A seated riders can spin at higher cadences than stood up
Because it's physically more difficult to spin high cadences stood up.
Being clipped/strapped in also makes pedalling super high cadences easier

@Sophie777, I just tried on my bike with a Brose S motor and it needs something around 30° before starting. And a minimum speed is necessary too.

I'm "old" and heavy(a little less now that I'm riding a bike again) but I can still spin at up to 150rpm (but i prefer lower with 120rpm starting to be out of confort zone) but when young I used to ride road bikes so it's in my DNA to spin one of the many reasons I love the brose motor is that I can spin easily with no drag.
