Who owns Crestline 180

5 month since I bought the S180. Today I just completed 100 rides!!! so time to check some statistics.
1,948 miles; 19 miles average ride
355K ft of climbing; 3,500ft average ride
249h; 2.5h average ride.
3set of tires, a couple pairs of brake pads, a couple of Mavens brake bleed because I'm picky, RS Zeb service and the most important yet ZERO issues with the Bosch CX gen 5. This motor give me all I need and even more after the firmware update, definitely powerful enough for me on steep and techy uphills.
Big fan of CRESTLINE!!!!

Boom shukalaka that is some milage. I'm at 1318km so you are over double my milage. Thats a good effort. I am 50/50 e to mtb however.

I too am glad i have the S180 instead of the DJI. I'm rocking 600wh and 400wh batteries. I love the weight and balance of the 400wh. I've done 25 charge cycles on the 400wh and 16 on the 600wh.

Turns out I ride my bike mostly like a mid power bike in 400wh mode in tour + at 70nm and emtb 85nm.
Personally i find 100nm too much for most instances. It is cool on steep tech bits but then I quickly slap the back down to tour+ or emtb mode.

So I have a chance to get a 2025 crestline rs180 frameset. Currently I ride a whyte elyte. so bosch sx, 400wh battery with 250 extender. 20kg. The local trails I ride are tight and twisty, I do travel often and ride chunkier enduro trails. I have a dh bike for the park days. I realise the crestline built up is likely to be around 23kg. How easy is it to handle on tight stuff and trails that arent steep and more mellow? Im worried it will be a handful on local off piste that isnt chunky or that steep.

I have a an s180,enduro and downhill bike.
I find the 180 is good for anything from steep gnar to bike park jump lines to chill flow back country rides

I've ridden everything from a 10.8kg cross-country bike to my Crestline all on the same trials. I've never been prevented from riding anything I want to ride on any of those bikes. I think people over-think this. All MTBs are capable of riding pretty much anything the average trail system has to offer. I enjoy my Crestline because it's comfy, not because it lets me do things other bikes can't. YMMV if you're some kind of pro, of course. Even then: I was just watching this last night, hard-tail was only 10 7 secs slower:
BTW my RS180 with 600wh battery is 20.8kgs. No reason a Crestline has to be 23kg...

I agree with your assessment. This bike is very versatile and was also impressed with its climbing capabilities. I'm fortunate to have a few emtb's and find myself riding the S180 the most due to ot being a jack of all trades😉

Sizing philosophy will be more impactful. Crestline size charts put riders on a smaller bike than many competitors. If you aren’t sizing up, it should be plenty agile.

Crestline isn't as extreme on geometry as the current trend, especially the wheelbase which I can really appreciate. You can set the bike as 160mm rear travel and it is more nimble.

Current form:
Maven Ultimates
XT Linkglide w/ STFU damper
Deity Supervillain pedals
170/160 Zeb 3.1 & Vivid Ult
Nobl TR 37/41 (F/R)
Assegai DD/Krypt Rear + Rimpact V2 Pro insert
600wh & 800wh battery - preferring 600wh for most rides
Exactly 52 lbs w/ 600wh & pedals

Might try the Zeb at 180 travel. I had a Fox 38 at 180 before and honestly preferred it at 170 (felt more vague at 180) but the Zeb seems stiffer and may be good at 180. I really enjoy 170/160 for trail riding but going back to 180/180 is tempting. Xt linkglide is amazing, much better than Sram T-Type for this bike IMO. STFU damper is also well worth it. Tempted to get an Ochain, maybe next season. Also preferring the Vivid Air over SDU Coil. More bottom out support and makes the bike feel more lively, while not losing any capability in the rough stuff.
