I mistakening ordered a front Eddy Current 27.5 x2.6 for use on rear, is there much noticeable difference putting a front tyre on the rear? Running mullet otherwise I've have kept it and used on front, supplier has rears in stock but only 2.8, I wanted to try 2.6.

I did it once before on my analogue MTB. By mistake I bought two front 29x2.4 Michelin’s.
So, on the rear I fitted the tyre with the direction of travel arrow pointing backwards, reasoning that if front is optimised for braking, rear should be optimised for traction. It worked exceptionally well.
eMTB might be different, but it worked for me on the MTB.

I also mounted a Rekon against the rotation arrow for rear and it was great for climbing.
I just bought 2 DHF to use on 1 bike. Many are happy this way and that includes some in my area.

I don't know of a database sorry, it's tricky due to all the sizes, compounds and casings. I'm finding the maxxis double down casing a good compromise. Good side wall protection and the max grip is nice n soft. It's lighter than the schwalbe super trail tyres. The DD DHR's are on my levo SL.

I’d seen that but didnt quite have enough models, I quite like the classic skin look so just hunting down a 1200g max one, marys are 1390g

Im not sure how wide the verdicts measure. I have bb 2.6 f and 2.4 rear. The 2.4 is wider than a michelin or maxxis 2.4. Nice tires. Bike park killed the soft compound pretty quick. Soft front still looks new

Anyone tried Vee Tyre Co Flow Snap Enduro Core tyre review - MBR I noticed my coach swears by these and doesn’t like Magic Mary’s.

I tried to get some. No stock at the canadian distributor. I havent found any online dhops with them either. Commencal canada had a few options but nothing that i was looking for. The vee rubber site lists a bunch of options for the flow snaps. A variety of casings and compounds and 2.35 or 2.6. I was hoping to try some 2.6's with the gravity casing in a ultrasoft front and something not so soft on the rear. Commencal only had one single 2.35 gravity casing in the tackee compound. If they had 2 i might have bought them to absorb the shipping cost between the 2. Too much $ for a single after shipping. I keep checking. They look great

Had a right fight sticking two of the most difficult tyres going being BigBetty 29x2.4 Super Dh (6 layers) and Magic Mary 29x2.6 Super Gravity (4 layers), don’t know why but on the Rise it was way harder, anyhow I found a new technique that works wonders thankfully! It does concern me having to fight it on a trail though...

Anyhow that’s 2.7kg of tyres, not practical but I want to test how it feels with monster truck tyres on vs the dissector/rekon. I’d ordered some Magic Mary 2.6 supertrail ages back, they just landed from Germany but the box felt light so I weighed it and unless it’s a defect I’m not sure what’s going on!

The Magic Mary here are the same tyre, ones 1000g but the other is 1255g


I then checked the Maxxis tyres just to see also

The Magic Mary here are the same tyre, ones 1000g but the other is 1255g

I’ll try inspect a little closer, I’d really love to use this tyre but it’s not right is it....unless Schwalbe have a secret recipe and let their prototype next gen tyre out by error! (I wish)...the sidewalls felt the same, way better than the dhf etc

Yeah that’s about right, they flux in weight I’m finding, sometimes quite a lot 50-300g, annoyingly I bought some skin walls too, chap says they might be 1200g but both came in at 1400g (mm 2.4 super grav)

had a couple rides out at Forest Dean, I did most the trails other than GBU but the others were PLENTY spicy, riding the rise with these tyres was a dream, finally everything just performed as it should, felt great

Like a complete tool I placed an online order for a Minnion DHR ..without my reading specs on and a DHF turned up ..( which is my mistake) Im not sending it back so have decided to run with it on the rear when the time comes to change ..Ive read conflicting reports regarding which way to run it.. with or against the directional arrow ..?
From what I can gather running with the arrow could lead to some fruity braking distances..?
Or do I bite the bullet and concede that Ive been a dick and save it for when the Assegai on the front which I really like eventually wears out ..and try to find a DHR ( wearing my reading glasses this time ? )

You can try reverse that is what i did 2 years ago with a Rekon and i loved all the climbing capacities. You could always switch the rotation if do not like it. I just bought 2 DHF to be put on my new bike that shoud be here in oct. and i will reverse my rear tire. More riders use 2 DHF and are happy, this will be a first for me.

Only an idiot would run a £70 DHF the wrong way round.Cornering knobs won't work as intended (the L shaped ones)
Braking traction is similarly poor in comparison to a DHRII either way round. But the DHRII for a DH race tyre has immense braking performance due to its centre knobs (it has exactly the same L shaped cornering knobs in the same direction as a DHF) .

About the only place these can be bought (skin wall at least) but some favourable reviews) I know a coach who swears by them, they just dropped their ridiculous postal charges considerably; actually I’m wondering if there’s an error even!

One place seemed to say in dry it’s unbeatable but in wet it’s not so amazing
