On my list of to gets, particularly once I'm running the SRAM flattop transmission chains. Also waiting for the fox digital shock pump to come on sale..Possibly the least exciting bike-related purchase I've ever made...
A chain wear indicator.
One of the best investments you can make in your bike imo.A chain wear indicator.
But you can get it in oil slick color, how exiting...Possibly the least exciting bike-related purchase I've ever made...

Sorry, I have to disagree... your framing of this photo is still off. You need to raise the camera a bit more, what's all the crap at the bottom of the photo for??Found some green Bosch grease at Lordco and some cheap spare Magura brake pads.

Careful Stihldog, you'll end up with a rash using that cheap Bosch grease. Surely she's worth KY gel???Found some green Bosch grease at Lordco and some cheap spare Magura brake pads.

Ive went a little over budget with these. I had stamp2 pedals on my old bike and these where great. They lasted me over 11k km on original pins and bearings.Just bought the same, but in silver. First ride on them this afternoon. Comfy
I also ordered the green ones as I have dull green grips, but although being absolutely gorgeous I decided they were just a tad too vivid for the bike. Despite their great looks, the reason why I chose these Atlas pedals was because of their bearing design. A wide ball bearing on the crank side and an Igus sleeve bearing on the axle end which is closed to the elements so won't let water and crap in. Hoping they work as good as they look!
Nicho, tut tut .. missed opportunity! Must try harder.
Fronts were shipped on time but rears have been a week delayed twice. Cancelled the order and today returned the unused still packaged fronts for a refund. Gonna think again.Bought two new wheelsets for wife and my bikes.
Bought 2 x wheelsets of DT Swiss HXC 1501 Spline One which were on sale because they have been superceded by new HXC 1500. Also got lucky and found 2 sets of torque caps for them. So got all the pretty shit to play with in the garage.Fronts were shipped on time but rears have been a week delayed twice. Edit 10 May @ 13.00: for the avoidance of doubt these were Bontrager Line Pro 30 29" wheelsets. Perhaps symptomatic of Trek and other major manufacturer organisational/financial problems ...
I have had those on my Merida for the last five years, and they have been almost faultless. One set of freehub bearings after two years and three damaged spokes replaced. I had the whole bike checked a month ago and all bearings and spokes were spot on. Front wheel needed some slight attention to spoke tension. The mechanic said that it was only because he's a perfectionist about wheel wobble. And that is the sum total.Bought 2 x wheelsets of DT Swiss HXC 1501 Spline One which were on sale because they have been superceded by new HXC 1500. Every time I change tyres I also check wheels bearings - if they feel even slightly 'graunchy' then they are replaced. At the same time I check spoke tensions with a Park Tool TM-1 (which I check against a home made calibration rig). Wheel wobble is easily checked and is rarely the rim - If the rim doesn't wobble then it's the tyre.I have had those on my Merida for the last five years, and they have been almost faultless.
