Is it correct to assume that because there are no cable shifting ports on the Unno, that the wireless derailleurs can't be hard wired in therefore you can't take advantage of the auto shift features built into the DJI motor?

Also of course, you have to deal with an additional battery at the derailleur.

This just seems like a huge miss to me.

Of course its not driven with a bettery. It is hatdwired ro the motor. You can see this in the manual.

You should look at this the other way around : It's amazing that a brand that makes a fraction of the number of bikes that Spec makes is able to offer a real top spec at about the same price of a Levo with more expensive suspension.
 
I just found out the current status regarding the delivery of the Unno Mith Pro. The first models will not arrive in Switzerland until August. Race models will then follow in September.
Only the Factory model should make it in July...

I know what you mean but Specialized charge that price because they have actual shops/established brand/dealer network and a proven warrenty support package.

Their overheads are massive in comparison to Unno, so I dont think 15K euros represents the same value.

We don't even know how the production Mith rides, just indicative traits from the prototype, feels like the hype train is out of control at the moment... i'm along for the ride but I hope it isnt a bust as its such a good looking bike!

So you're saying that a mass produced Citroen should cost the same as a bespoke limited production Pagani Utopia ? Because Citroen have shops and Citroens overheads are massive in comparison ?

If anything Specialized is more of a Porsche and Unno is Zenvo 😄

In the simplest terms I think that for the same class of product (Pagani Utopia type) Specialized can charge more because they have a big/well-developed support strcuture and proven performance.

OK, yes, it was a crap example - but the point was addressing the known reputation/shops/dealer network... so a base Citroen would have all of those.

If you want something more comparable to your justification, then a Corvette ZR1X should cost the same as a Koenigsegg Sadair's Spear. Where as they don't. The Corvette is mass produced. The Koenigsegg isn't.

In terms of of Mith, everything other than the frame can be warrantied directly if necessary.

You're saying a Gen4 Levo should cost more than the Mith.

I'm saying the Mith is a bespoke bike with 100+ numbers as opposed to 100,000+ (approx over 3 years based on numbers manufactured).

It's pretty safe to say that Spesh's overhead per bike produced is tiny compared to Unno. Don't forget Spesh produce hundreds of models which all get sold/supported/designed though the same infrastructure.

In the Mith we have a stunning bespoke bike with an incredible carbon layup. A bike which has been re-designed once from the Bosch to the Avinox to make it even more svelt, attractive and lighter. A bike you can happily proudly hang on your wall when you're not using it.

In the Gen4 Levo we have a mass produced lump of plastic with a carbon layup which leaves most people scratching their heads as to why it looks so bad on such an expensive bike. A bike which has been re-designed once from the Mahle to the Drive 3 to make it fat, heavy and unattractive. A bike you would happily hide behind a wall when you're not using it. :D (Sorry Gen4 owners, but it is fugly even if it rides great).

Based on the normal logic that something mass produced with less attention to detail will be considerably cheaper than something bespoke. Then surely ??? the Levo should be €5k with the same spec as the Mith at €15k ? As it is the markup on a Levo must be absolutely vast compared to the Mith. So why would Unno sell a bike for less that they can sell all they make for the same price ?

Gawd, that was boring .. sorry for thread de-rail .. Now Rail's .. how expensive for a Top one ! ;-) Now that's crazy. I'll shut up now.
 
Jeez I dont think I can engage as there's too much speculation/assumption for me to package up a reply to all of that for you. I do get what youre saying about scales of economy/buying power of bigger companies though.

I think we will just have to agree to disagree as I seem to place more value things that you don't and that's okay, it'd be boring if we were all the same :)
 
Just found out that no S3 Race bikes have been built yet so if you are waiting for one of those you aren't getting it in June. I'm eagerly awaiting the weight of the S3 once they build one.
 
It’s long been the case that the price asked for EMTBs from a lot of manufacturers has little to do with what they actually cost to build or support, but more to do with what the market will stand.

If Specialized are asking £15k for their top of the line e-bike, then I suppose Unno reserve the right to ask the same for what they consider to be a similar segment bike, even if it only cost them a fraction of the price to build compared to Specialized.

Just to be clear, I’ve no idea if that’s the case or not, frame aside the components are off the shelf same as Specialized but I’m presuming Specialized get price breaks on volume alone.

It boils down to ‘don’t like the price, don’t buy the bike’ doesn’t it really.

Afran Valley Bike Shed said they were expecting a S2 Race and a S3 Pro in August, so they are at least building some of the Race spec bikes

I didnt really want to speculate any further as I have never worked in the bike industry but I have been an accountant, planning manager, operations manager, consultant in various industries operate all the way up to the prime contractors like BAE.

Once a business gets to a certain size they always get corperate bloat and layers of middle-management that arent generating direct value.

According to several different people on the Facebook group they have only just received the Race frames in Barcelona but to slip 5+ weeks further isn't great :confused:

How much are Unno paying you to type that utter drivel out. 😆

It’s an ebike. Therefore it’s ugly. It’s got a fat down tube and a still looks pregnant, just not as pregnant as others.

That ‘incredible carbon layup’ they have been doing for years which looked better than it rode (and lasted, with their snappy reputation).

I’d rather they made more effort designing bikes where you didn’t have to remove shocks to access compression adjusters, or for conditions other than bone dry dust, or cracked, or rode like crap because they kept pushing weird suspension kinematics.
