Tyre Armour

Hi, anyone had any dealings with Tannus tyre armour, i know Rob used doing the Mega, I'm heading to wales November and don't want the puncher issues as most likely to be raining . Or am i going a bit overboard, i'm running inner-tube at the minute....

a colleague used them for SDA national champs at Glencoe.
Possibly the most techy rocky DH race track in the UK.
That weekend went successfully but he removed them as he felt they increased rolling resistance quite considerably.
He's an Elite DH racer though. So this may not be important to you on an emtb

For Wales in November I would be more concerned with water proofs than tyre armour!

Hi mate, I’ve had mine in since mid July.
F&R.
No punctures , I ride in North Wales, Marin trail , Llandegla , Pen Machno. Lots of rocks and hard hits.
At 20psi they still feel hard as the crown of the guard is thick, I run them at 18 off road and that’s the sweet spot for me.

A little fiddly to fit, but take your time and they’re OK.

I have no complaints on battery impact due to weight or drag.

Cheers. looks like i'm getting some inserts then,do i need to fit smaller inner tubes?? or will the originals be OK.
