Spec is doing whatever they can to sell you an levo doing the opposite of smart moves. Creating more sku's of the same bike.

I think releasing all of these sub models is doing the exact opposite of generating value & interest in the platform.
Admittedly, I'm a sales executive and not a marketing one, but I see the logic they're employing. It's relatively easy to create sub models and variants of the Levo platform. These new SKUs raise awareness, and get people talking about Levos. The evidence of the effectiveness is right here in this thread! It's similar to what Porsche does with its 911 series. They keep coming out with variants and special editions that keep the 911 in the front of mind; even if few will actually buy the specific variant.

Not in response to the above quotes... But it would be a misunderstanding to think YTD sales has any impact on the creation of these variants. These marketing and product campaigns are all designed and approved in (at least) 12-month cycles. These were strategically planned and presented at the beginning of their fiscal year. Major organizations don't come up with product and marketing initiatives by the seat of the pants.

I think so too. This is the last chance before heavy discounting.
I believe national/international Levo discount campaigns will only happen after the Avinox backlog is extinguished. No reason to discount when the competition is stuck in backorder.

The best ability is availability. You can be the best in the world but you have little value if you don't show up.

Couldn't they use up this gen of motors and fat batteries in cargo bikes, commuter bikes, city bikes etc?
I don't care how fat my commuter bike looks, nor would i care about the ugly battery cover as having an easy removable battery is more important. A bike is just a tool when used in these scenarios.
This latest tragic offering smacks of desperation.

They are also doing that. The new Vado uses the 3.1 system.

Desperation or just being shameless...Plenty S-works models (highest MSRP) based on the same design. Who would a choose Levo R Ultralight, no matter the discipline? To me, it's a nonsense. A short travel with light/custom components and a fat frame/downtube with a noisy motor. I was sad when Levo 4 was released. But since then, every new addition to the Levo 4 family, made me laugh.

My Levo is not noisy. It’s silent. Troll away, sad troll.
If you own a noisy one, take it in for service.
The fat tube is only noticed by those looking at the bike, it’s not really noticeable when you can afford to ride one.
What cool thin tube bike really gets your cranks turning?
R/rhetorical

Sorry specialized took you from sad to laughing, some sort of pills should help with those mood swings you are experiencing.

I don't think Specialized is desperate; I see no signs of that. On the contrary, I think they are sticking to their roadmap. These launches were certainly planned well in advance and are part of capitalizing on the product they’ve achieved with the Levo 4. Competition has surely made them re-evaluate their priorities, but I don't expect a drastic shift in their product lineup. I don't think they care about the motor power war after all, who needs more than 120 Nm of torque? Battery consumption is absurd. I actually think the issue of MGUs is more important than that. I’d like to see Specialized focus on: greater battery efficiency, MGUs, and weight reduction.
I don't mind the thick frame tubes at all I actually think they look good and I have no idiotic obsession with power.

Peeps want to believe Specialized is desperate. Let them. They are not.

I bet there’s a lot of spouses laughing at all this fat tube shaming🤣😂

“Fat downtubes suck!” —husband says, yelling at phone, rubbing backside wallet area
“I’m not sure I’d mind a fat downtube, Honey” —wife to husband, wide grin

Yet another thread descended into fanboi wars.
Yet another comment about threads devolving…….
Quite an uselessly reductive, but also unhelpful, or entertaining comment.
Perhaps just to see your letters on screen?
Cheers

I’ve recently bought a Levo 4, and I’ve had a go on a friends Unno Myth.

There’s no doubt that in terms of riding experience the Avinox system is better than the Specialised 3.1 to me.

However I really like the flexibility of the Levo 4, with the rear rack, the range extender and the removable battery. I also like its tune-ability with the geometry and the Genie shock system. I may also buy the parts to upgrade it to a Levo Evo at some point.

Very interested to see where things go next.

Just for reference, it's comments like that which don't help the stereotypical image of the Spesh owner.

Likewise, going on the defensive actually reads really poorly.

Everyone knows the gen4 is a great bike and extremely capable. But, it missed the mark on what people expected as an evolution of the levo line - hence a lot of people's disappointment when it was released (especially after the huge delay).

People will obviously express this in responses when it's relevant.

Maybe we should try and keep the thread fun and get upto twenty trillion pages like the gen4 levo rumours thread.

Hopefully thats why were here ? Fun ?? Despite most of us being cantankerous old bastards 😁

LoL really no worries here. Take it for laughs or for spite😘
It’s a public forum.
Gods forbid we take time to be a bit entertaining.
If takin seriously public forums will shorten your life equivalent to a pack of cigarettes or 2 cracked Amflow frames.

I’ll not sit around idle while trolls run free. They shall be hunted and put on display.

I’m not defensive, you are…….😂🤣

I’m having a blast if you aren’t, not my problem🤘🏼🏴‍☠️🤘🏼🏴‍☠️
