✅ 1. Original meaning of “woke”

The term woke originated in African American communities and meant:

“to be aware of social injustice, especially racism.”
(As in: stay awake to discrimination; don’t be ignorant of it.)

Thanks for that but I am aware of the etymology of "woke". I did however wonder if @Polar had a definition which could be reasonably applied to eMTBs in this forum. Evidently not. :)

I'm sorry I can't help you out.

Let’s hope they take a chainsaw to the “ Tractor “ Downtube eh….
Your trolling is getting tiresome. You aren’t selling anyone, that you got some skinny piece sitting in your garage waiting for you to get home.
You sound like a broken record. Boring and scratchy. I’m sorry the downtube hurt you. With time you may heal.
Go back under your bridge now and rest on your knuckles.

Just block him like I have 😂

I would rather rub his nose in it, like a dog that pooped inside. I’m not offended. I like making fun of persistent idiots.
I’m sure like the dog that never learns, he will poop inside again.
But at least we can expect it and be ready with a rag and disinfectant.
Troll will be trolls.

Commenter over on Vital suggests there's a Specialized emtb dropping today? Tuesday is Specialized's usual day for announcing things so maybe. Maybe 2027 Levo 4 builds? Or something else? SL3?

Levo X is being mentioned. Mullet with 150mm travel. My guess is either a new SL platform or else a fixed battery slim version of the Levo 4.

They've lost it.

My thoughts:

1. Seems to me there's a niche a touring style eMTB will definitely fill. It's not for me, but I've noticed how many people online talk about their rides being long treks. Specialized is so big they seem to have the bandwidth for niche products like this. More options in the marketplace should be welcomed; even if it's something you'd never personally buy.

2. It's odd that it's an S-Works at all, never mind only. This is especially odd considering there is no S-Works Levo EVO. Why only such a high-end spec?

You can buy the whole kit separately at Specialized - that bike is just a S-Works with the kit mounted on the bike.

Interesting. Just feels backwards to only offer an SW Levo X; and not offer an SW Levo EVO at all. I'm an audio guy so what the heck do i know-but I would've thought a Levo X would have a low spec; potentially with cable shifting and definitely a cable dropper.

So just as a curious visual experiment, therefore please for the love of god, don't start arguing about what's better/worse/thinner/fatter/uglier/heavier/lighter/faster/slower...

The Amflow X and the Levo X.

Specialized asked who this bike was for, and the answer was apparently: “people who burn cash for warmth."

Hold on, why is the resident bot posting stuff like this? As stupid as this bike (imo) I'm not sure I appreciate an AI bot coming on to threads and posting stuff like this. Hardly seems impartial?

I get the idea at least on paper. It's a Levo 4 with 2 bike racks attached for an extra $500.

Bike camping is a (very fun) thing, and this is a great setup for that. Much better to have bespoke racks and mounts instead of rattly generic one-size-fits-all stuff. A bike like this implies loading up your gear and heading to a remote campsite, popping off the racks and shredding some deserted epic trails all day. That sounds like a great weekend to me.

But here's the problem. These things will give you maybe 25 miles of range. Remote campsites don't have power. Now what? I have a 1000wh Anker power bank, it weighs almost 30 lbs and would take up the whole back rack. You could maybe bring solar panels (carried like a surf board), top up the bike with the Anker overnight, then use the panels to charge it back up while you ride the next day. But the ride up and back would be miserable and the math still doesn't work out. And heaven forbid it's a cloudy day.

If your remote cabin/campsite has power then you're good to go, but now this thing became even more niche. Very weird bike to market. I predict they sell very few.

For reference my Levo 4 Expert (with dual DH Assegai) gets close to 25 miles of range (while exceeding 2500' of climbing), and I keep it in Turbo all the time. A more prudent use of assist would obviously yield more. You could also pack a spare 840Wh battery; and that's before we start adding range extenders to the mix.

Back rack can take ~20 kg front ~10 kg but no kickstand - I rather get a German tank Riese & Müller.
