I just bought a gen 3 (2022) Trek 9.9 Rail as an upgrade from my Gen 2 (2020). I had my Vorsprung Secus swapped over to the new 2023 Zeb Ultimate with Buttercups and it has the 2023 Ultimate rear shock as well
OMG - this is the plushest, best damped bike I've ever ridden by a long shot. I used to think Fox Grip2 was the best thing out, but the RS + Secus is unreal. Like riding a cloud over small rocks/roots, smooths out stutter bumps that were horrendous on the older Lyrik and has amazing control. The rear ultimate upgrade is also the 1st time I've noticed such a big difference in rear handling from a shock upgrade
Took it down my long 8 minute extended downhill on 1st ride "taking it easy on new bike" and beat my best time for the year (not ever though)
Had to remove all but 1 token from my 170 and lower pressure by 15lb but well worth the upgrade. Would recommend this setup to anyone on a longer travel ebike
