Shenzhen Zhaosheng Carbon CEF52 using Shimano EP801 motor

Finally, it’s completed. It’s a ‘cheap’ build with used or ‘new old’ kit. I Have only been out for a few non technical rides, it rides well, but I have to put quite a bit of effort in to get the best out of it. It’s noisy compared to either of my Bafang motors (M510/M820). It weighs 23 kilos.

How is the battery mount on that frame? Is it just bolts holding it from the bottle cage area like the cef50/cef55 frame?
Im Interested in this build also.

The battery is attached to a bracket which is then bolted to the frame

Another thing to consider, I wanted cables externally routed, but was supplied with an ICR headset, the top bearing did not have a seal fitted on one side of it and there was no seal to go under the top cap assembly, not ideal for wet, gritty and muddy conditions often encounter here in the UK. So ensure you are supplied with the appropriate headset.

Can anyone recommend a ZS56/66 headset that won’t break the bank?

Something else to consider, the Shimano ep800 motor that was supplied with the frame, cuts off very sharply at 25kph when restricted and feels like the brakes are on when trying to peddle above that speed, I don’t know if the ep801 displays the same behaviour, but mine definitely needs derestricting to enable an enjoyable riding experience

Standard/trunnion
Oooo thats a bugger, I assume somewhere out there you can probably find a shock with the trunnion at the opposite end to the piggy back but alas I've never seen one. Remote resevoir would work too but not seen many of those for MTB either...

Be mindful of which shock you fit, I originally intended to fit a Fox Float X P.S Elite 205 x 65mm, but it was hitting the frame, see photo

Hello mate. Did you end up running a 205x65 if so how much travel are you getting from the rear end?
Have you had any issues with the frame at all?
If you can find time to reply that would be great thanks

No, didn’t fit it, used a Fox Float DPS 205x65 (changed to 60)
