Rivian ALSO TM-B Urban / EMTB

I completely missed the existence of the Muga 10. I think we are seeing a new category emerge with these bikes: Mobility-EMTB.
Having had a decent amount of ride time on the Orbea Muga 10, I'm sold on the automatic gearing! It's just so nice moving about. As I had assumed, the most problematic is the transition from flat to very steep. It's like when you forget to downshift on a derailleur bike. To cope with this I've ordered a controller which lets you either a) in auto mode, increase or decrease the preset cadence, or b) shift between virtual gears. Temporarily increasing the cadence will probably work well when entering a steep incline.

Waiting for the TM-B or a bike with an e-CVT motor just got a little easier :)

Have you taken the bike off road on some decent technicals? To have an electronic shifting mechanism intermediate the mechanical CVT rear hub is interesting. I've tried the straight mechanical version, and was left a bit wanting, perhaps because of my familiarity with the indexed Speedhub. The TM-B virtual manual shifting was insanely good and the auto mode worked well for road, and "decent" for offroad, but a software tune in Class 1 EMTB mode should improve things.

I've tried the Enviolo cable operated version and I did not like it one bit. With the mechanical Rohloff, I felt you had to back off pedalling too much to change into a lower gear. Not that much of a problem with the electronic version.

The Enviolo automatiq, without the controller, is pretty bad for technical off road. You really need to control the gearing for that type of riding. 2.5 kg unsprung mass does not help either.
