Rail - Dropper post

Currently running a 150mm OneUp dropper filly slammed on a medium frame.

My Trek Rail 5 2020 XL has the original TranzX JD-YSP18 (130mm travel, internal routing, 425mm length) and it's getting a little out of shape. I could try to fix it with Oneup V1 rebuild kit but at the same time why not upgrade to.

Any idea/experience if the 31,6mm/240mm/610mm could fit XL-frame?

I think it's about if the (INSERT LENGHT = 337mm) will fit.

For those who decide to fit an AXS Reverb 170mm dropper into a medium sized Rail…measure carefully. Seat hight is a critical factor because the dropper bottoms out at the bend of the down-tube.

I was able to slam the post to within 5mm (or less) for the correct seat hight for me (5’9”). Having a longer dropper allowed me to drop the seat much lower for downhill drops and technical runs.
My inseam is 32” I think . This size is not for everyone but this length of dropper works perfectly for my geometry.

Regarding the insertion depth of the seat tube on a 2020 Rail 9.7, using a 170mm AXS Reverb dropper.

Insertion depth was measured at 234mm(when the dropper post touched the frame).

I inserted mine at 227mm. (7mm to avoid contact).

I just installed the OneUp V2 210mm dropper on my Trek Rail 7 Gen 2 ('22) size large. I am able to slam it all the way down.
