Post Your Pole Pics

First (really easy) ride on my K0.

I shouldn’t be riding with 2 hernias and limited vision in my right eye, but my BPPV/vertigo has finally been gone for a week, so I thought I’d give it a try.

The bike has been sitting in the box since early September, it arrived the day of my retina re-attachment surgery/two days before I had a concussion.

I had the LBS replace those odd copper colored stickers that came on the Zeb.

Been blowing through speed sensors. Maybe this sneaky routing will stop them the cable getting damaged.

What is the next best thing to new bike day?

New shock day! (Rockshox Vivid Ultimate Air)

Also installed on my baby (K0) Vioma is a OneUpComponents V3 180 mm dropper (just fits my 29” inseam).

In the next few weeks, gonna have the LBS mount a 180mm Mezzer Pro.

It was a tad too slack (62 degrees mullet), so also added a Cane Creek Angleset.

I literally just installed the same shock on my Voima today. Along with some Renthal bars that I wanted to try out.
Which size rear VisionVelo fender are you using?

I got it with the Vioma, I think it is the short one.

It just contacts the frame at bottom out and my seat slammed clears it…thought I might need to take it off.

Edit: the Fidlock bottle’s top barely rubs the Vivid…I have to loosen the lid to prevent the rub.

Smashed a few full 27.5 Voima sessions lately. C of G is lower and the front end is lighter with steeper head angle the bike is super playfull .... I still prefer Mullet for the super for the super chunk. But for standard stuff, Its my new favourite set up for standard park riding.

Can you give some more details on the riding characteristics between these configurations? Did you ever use a full 29er setup? The reason I ask is that my still trying to parse out the handling dynamics with my mixed-wheel Sonni, which is the first mullet setup I've ever used. I'm finding the Sonni to be a more different ride than than my Voima (from what I remember, as it was stolen from me nearly a year ago) than I expected. I guess the only way to know for sure is slap a 29er in the back, but would like to wager your opinion until then.

I never ran the Voima in full 29 mode as im a steep chaser and dont like the ball bag grind of a 29er.

So,,,, running full 27.5 takes it back to 29 geo but lower. In mullet mode the voima sits at 62.6° htb and is really too slack for easy stuff particularly uphill corners are abit floaty with a 62.6°HTA. Going down the steep mullet mode is sweeeet and also the 29er upfront is better on square edge hits.

Full 27.5 mode is more playfull, lower C of G. For easier tracks its more fun. But i have to watch out for pedal tagging particularly pedaling technical ups.

I purchased a Pole Voima ID Race K0 about a year ago and recently completed some winter upgrades. While it's unfortunate that Pole has ceased operations, I’m pleased to report that the Pole frame and swingarm have performed flawlessly. I see no cracks or defects on either and I'm pretty hard on the bike.

Winter upgrades include:
  • Fox DHX2 Shock with a 450lb coil
  • Fox 40 Forks (27.5)
  • RaceFace Next R 36 Carbon Wheels (27.5)
  • AXS GX Transmission with an X0 chain
  • AXS Dropper

So I got a new front triangle for my Voima, (from a guy who bought a bunch of stuff from the auction) because the front seam of my head tube looked like it was separating.

Can’t wait to go ride now, (I’ve been off the bike since 12/4 from a crash where I broke 6 ribs and punctured my lung). But I think I’ll be able to ride it pretty soon!

That's scary news on the front triangle though? Any pics of that separation? Something else to keep an eye out for now!

I had actually thought that the ID models came with the new swingarms already? Is your swingarm still the original design?

No, the original swingarms had the brake boss built in. The Race ID that I have had v2 or v3 I believe. V4 came out right before they filed for bankruptcy. After rides, I noticed dirt accumulating on the top/front of the seam.

Here is the head tube pic. It actually looked ok on the inside but I’m going to repair/reinforce it anyway and keep it as a spare.

Thank you for the detailed information. I hope my Voima lasts until spare parts are available.
