Riding a tuned or deristricted EMTB is not a trivial offence and can have serious legal consequences. Also, many manufacturers can detect the use of a tuning device or deristricting method and may decline a repair under warranty if it was modified from the intended original specification. Deristricting EMTB's can also add increased loads for motors and batteries. Riding above the local law limit may reclassify the bike as a low-powered bike, requiring insurance, registration and a number plate.
Be aware of your local country laws. Many laws prohibit use of modified EMTB's. It is your responsibility to check local laws. Ignoring it, has potential implications to trail access, and risk of prosecution in the event of an accident.
We advise members great caution. EMTB Forums accepts no liability for any content or advice given here.
Yes. A SurRon has a throttle. It's not the same. But the wheel spin you can generate if you set over run to maximum and select Boost for 60 seconds, feels like a motorbike.A surron is in the multiple KW and doesn’t have pedals. Hardly similar at all
Sounds like the Amflow will have a lot more power then the gen4 Sworks. Someone said after 20mph it drops down to 250w between 20-28mphMy Shimano EP801 is set to Class 3 when I ride on the road. And the 45kph is more than required. But it's no where near the Amflow. I can wheel spin on concrete with the Amflow.
There is no speed or power limit. But you empty your battery so fast.So your saying the Amflow nz mode is a beast over 20? and i stand corrected?
getting mixed results. And it now depends who you purchased it from. Mixed results there too. Not sure if the VPN can bypass that aspect. many still say they are unrestricted using HK or NZ on authorized purchasesAnyone successfully derestricted their Avinox motor with VPN recently?
Heard rumours that it has now been stopped ?
Awesome cheersStill works
Yes I know, just a mate got his a couple of days ago and it's not working for him. It’s easy to de-restrict Avinox using a VPN![]()
