There's probably a thread on choosing your correct fork travel, but I can't find it so pic if the day wins again.

There's lots of information on this, but basically, let the universe guide you. If your preferred beer fits,.you're ok. If it doesn't you need a new fork.

That's a 500ml, be careful not to measure with the UK format 440.csns,.you could come a cropper on the trail from a simple beer choice mistake.

(Are we.doing better today with bike pics ?)

Instead of a new Yeti. 🤣😩

I hired an artist to do a PNW underwater scene for or spa area . I drew it up. I did the stain, and the rotting piling, it’s just concrete forming tube and plaster, paint/washes.

It’s all recycled metal and car paint. Barnacles are nuts, like actual nuts🤣
8’x16’
Just had to share it turned out so cool

"I'd like to be, under the sea, in an octopus's garden in Pizzman's back yard..." Ringo's original lyrics (allegedly).

My wife (me too just less so) is a massive Beatles fan. That was a factor👍🏻
The octopus is part of the family now. Like a gargoyle, warding off evil vibes. Protecting from the unseen.
He’s actually made with a batch of mx pipes/mufflers from BBR Motorsport (high end mini mx bikes, parts) that was made wrong. The artist is the manager /owner there. She unfurled and re hammered them onto a rebar frame. His skin texture is all hand welded, then lightly ground down. Suckers are just washers. Eyes are antique doorknobs.

That is very cool! Great repurposing of BBR’s oop’s. The artist did an incredible job.

So last night didn't go as planned.
My beautifully cleaned and lubed bike was wheeled out of the cave, switched on and off i went. Tried to change gear, nothing. took battery out (of the mech), put it back in, green lights, no shifting. queue lots of swearing.
Message to the group explaining my dilemma:
Someone is selling one off their new bike. Sorted, I think. (although now I'm going to be a good few £££ out of pocket)
Now drive up to the meeting point, as I was running late.
Test the mech, fine. Put it on the bike, test again. nothing. connect it to the app, do the updates, starts to work.
Fly off at top speed down a bridle way, the sun gets in my eyes, BOOM, next I know I'm laying on the floor thinking WTF just happened and all sorts of pain. Luckily, only bruises and scrapes.
It was one of those nights that I should not have ridden.
Forgot to put on my knee pads, didn't take my proper Garmin with crash detection, and I could have been in the wilds until a dog walker found me this morning.
Finished the night with half a pizza.

Now sitting at work, thinking the pain killers are wearing off.
Only half a pizza, ruined the day.

Continuing with the daylight-saving after work night rides on my fully rigid singlespeed.
I've nearly been pure ebike for 3 years, realised I've lost a lot of fitness and developed some love handles, therefore making a lot of my shorts and riding jerseys too tight.
Not a bad thing as gunning singletrack on a FS eeb after dusk while these dummies are on the move is a perfect set up for a dirt nap... had a few close calls lately too.
Pleased that after half a dozen rides over the last 3 weeks it is getting easier so time to pick a steeper hill.

For me this is the best thread on the forum…… love the diversity and general banter along with great pics from around the globe.
Like the new heading 👌
Ups. No, I would prefer Pic of the Day as this is base line to me. It is not really chats in here, isn‘t it?

@Moderator Can we go back to old title please before fishwives are taking over? 🫣

This „couple“ looks a little bit like you caught them while they were making love.😂

Tried following a double track on map today gave up after a couple miles max it was a bag of shite. Salvaged day though with a trip round a Loch. Van parked up for night now near Achiltibuie a wee dram on the go. Climb Stac Polly tomorrow a lovely hill it is. Caving Sunday it cant get much better.
