Not surprised, the mud was horrible, and it hasn't stopped raining since! Don't even want to think about what the South Downs trails are like now, must be uglier than an ugly thing. It was at the point I had to hose down my jacket before it went in the wash haha
If you invent a mtb mudguard that works you'll be a overnight sensation. I just did a 12 mile road trip bike still needed washing work that out cause I can't.With such a small rear mudguard bet his back looks even more 'designer'

If only you could get a much longer front mudguard, like on a commuter bike, that stops all the fling onto your feet and pedals . .If you invent a mtb mudguard that works you'll be a overnight sensation. I just did a 12 mile road trip bike still needed washing work that out cause I can't.
Know what you mean. My tourer and Gravel bike have full mudguards it makes a big difference. But mudguards in general look a bit naff.If only you could get a much longer front mudguard, like on a commuter bike, that stops all the fling onto your feet and pedals . .
Awesome photo but, nope, I don’t do cold or snow anymore.
where is this? The plan was for an easy ride up the mountain. Ranger McFűçķŵíț and his stupid directions blew that plan out of the water, so we pivoted to another trail. I thought it was going to be easy. Nah, it wasn't that. It turned into a black diamond level trail with serious exposure. It didn't appear as if many hikers ever make it up to the top, and maybe no mountain bikers for many months.

Yeah, well, either the mudguards look "a bit naff" or your back looks like someone's shat on it. Your callKnow what you mean. My tourer and Gravel bike have full mudguards it makes a big difference. But mudguards in general look a bit naff.
If it's any consolation, it might rain here today. Not surprised, the mud was horrible, and it hasn't stopped raining since! Don't even want to think about what the South Downs trails are like now, must be uglier than an ugly thing.![]()

Im not a fan of the big mud guards but again each to their own. Yeah im looking forward to the summer and some dry weather because my God it hasn't stopped raining for about a week now straight. Each to their own but the massive ones are a hard pass for me. I do have a Sico guard to keep the shock and linkages clean (which I'll remove when the trails dry up), but I don't particularly care if I get muddy. Besides, you can't see your own back![]()
It was on the EMBN Show Steve:Several years ago, one of the MTB bike mags did an article on the impact of mudguards on speed. (They must have been short of copy). Anyway two guys on identical bikes one, with mudguards, one without, both wearing a white bodysuit. They timed themselves around the same muddy course. I think you can probably guess the result.
Yep, that's right! The guy without mudguards ended up covered in mud as well as his bike and he was a bit slower. The other fellow lookd like a dick but him and his bike were cleaner and a bit faster.
Greg might find the article, but I can't be arsed to ask.
How are you getting on with the Pivot? Which one did you get?
Met some new “friends” on my last ride.
where is this?
Don’t forget increasing pressure on tires and suspension when riding next time! Can’t ride for at least another week or two, due to chronic tendinopathy, so here’s a pic of tonight’s dinner. View attachment 177321

That's a strange half healthy option. Where's the broon sauce ?
But Broon sauce goes on everything, pie sausage, black pudding etc. If you have no money two slices of bread and brown sauce. I will buy some next time I'm in Italy .
Thanks for finding that.It was on the EMBN Show Steve:
That was the first one I've seen in the wild. I've only lived in the desert for the last three years but I consider myself very fortunate to have seen one now. He was sunning himself in the middle of the trail and eventually sauntered off after I explained the dangers off snoozing on a bike path. The snake wasn't as friendly since I almost ran him over while he was crossing the trail on a blind curve. He didn't get irritated until I closed in for the photo but, he never rattled.Awesome! I haven't seen a Gila monster in half a century. They're bad ass little creatures.
I got stung in ear last year by a bee it didn't like the smell of my sardines I'm thinking. Dont do snakes give me a highland cow with massive horns any day. That was the first one I've seen in the wild. Respect. Tough, very tough!Ventured offroad today bike yirdit
(filthy) again. Just had it serviced 1500 miles everything was OK. All bearings checked and lower fork oil change. New chain and set of rear pads that's the original pads so impressed with that. My handlebar remote been sticky so got another hopefully it gets the ok on warranty claim. I took off crank and plastic motor cover and had a look inside it was pretty clean. Same with headset area spotless. My gen two was always filthy around the top headset bearing I went through a lot of top bearings. . So definitely keeping the water and dirt out better . Same with motor area i was a regular occurrence removing the battery to motor cable and drying out in the house on Gen 2 ,and it was always covered in mud.. I lovemy Gen 3 Levo . Neighbour wiped out that bridge a few weeks ago luckily car never went over .

Is sticking sardines in your ears a well known Scottish custom? Just asking.I got stung in ear last year by a bee it didn't like the smell of my sardines I'm thinking. Dont do snakes give me a highland cow with massive horns any day.
