Up Cabrach area today an old favourite for me and Drummond . Quite windy today done this loads of times ,but today used a lot more battery than usual for some reason ?. 23 miles 4000ft only had 7 percent left at top of second hill ,strange i thought. . 50 percent was in eco. Wind farm has two welfare huts half a mile apart brand new nobody uses them what's that about i wonder ?. Went
up Cooks Cairn first 755 mtrs then a long down hill to Knochkan bothy for lunch , no power bars here good old BLT inside a Bellybutton softie foĺlowed by a cream donut . Bothy was fully stocked today with wood by Farmer Les for anyone who wants to spend the night. Fresh sawdust in compost toilet so a shame to waste it . Then a long climb up to top of Corriehabbie hill at 781mtrs. Battery down to 7 percent but luckily it's about a five mile downhill from there with only a couple small climbs , down to 4 percent at van.

Out yesterday and I came across toadstool city!

They look like they belong in Enid Blyton's books about Noddy and Big Ears!
They are called Fly Agaric and they are poisonous! Not drop down dead poisonous if you are a healthy adult, but they will make you ill including the usual hallucinations and vomiting.

In the one below, they are everywhere if you zoom in.

Just read a book about food convoys during Bosnian /Serb war. Folk so hungry they regularly ate poisoned mushrooms some lived and some died.

Changing of the seasons.

A couple of hours after Mrs and me returned from our ride yesterday, from our back garden looking towards the Eastern Solent.

Eeee, I remember when we used to get a herringbone sky backlit by a red setting sun making the whole sky amazing to behold, especially when the starlings did their murmurations. Sadly not seen one for years. Great pic. Anyone else remember those herringbone skies?
