Had to Google that one . Clear the way . My area they would just shout ,get oot o the wy min or yil git a ba in the side o the heed.
I think if you yelled FORE after a severe slice or hook you would be exonerated from any liability should your ball strike someone.

I started shouting Fore even after I putted. 😉

A traditional autumn photo of the bike. I take pictures of all my bikes in this spot.

Pretty awesome pics and views in here of “Pic of the Day”. I think we only have one view on this little mountain …unless you like trees and dirt. But on my way home, on a clear day, I sometimes stop and stare at Mount Baker in Washington U.S.
You may need to squint to see the mountain through the limbs and branches.

Yesterday on a popular EMTB trail we had some blow-down after some breezy conditions.

IMG_0671.jpeg
Took my trusty Milwaukee Chainsaw and 4 batteries with me.

IMG_0673.jpeg
Successfully made the first cut. Tree tried to stand back up.
Second cut was a little tricky after my last battery died.

Need a few more batteries I guess. Oh well. Try again tomorrow.

Only a few “meat-bikes” have ventured down here. The climb out is only possible on an EMTB and becomes very technical …both up and down. I’ve only cleared this large loop a few times without a dab. The regular EMTB gang use this trail quite often.

Lecko mio (WTF)! Are you kidding!? 😲 How many people do cross that section??? And how many do survive??? I would not even put a foot on that thing.

I’m in the same corner as you. I did a quick inspection of this feature after the young-guns finished. Never seen anyone actually use it …and I don’t think I want to.
20’ drop maybe ? if you don’t ride it just right.

. Few Black Sabbath albums for company today.
Top man !
It's always sad when ( all too often these days ) one of your heroes dies ..
Only ever saw Black Sabbath once back in 1972 on the Master of Reality tour when I was still a spotty youth of 15.
I think this was only my second gig after ELP Tarkus tour ..?
Gotta love Ozzy R.I.P 'ol son

ELP…I recently YouTube’d some Brain Salad Surgery. Ah the memories.

Yes i was an Apprentice at 15 on a Trawler a lad had a open real tape recorder. He played Masters of Reality and Santana Abraxis a lot so that was my first two albums. Before I became and don't laugh, T. Rex and Bowie fan. Aye Neil 22nd October is Australian Pink Floyd night in Aberdeen again.

Had to Google it as it wrung a bell. Had it on vinyl myself at one time.
Yep ..I still have it too..
Might have said this previously ..I saw the Australian Pink Floyd performing the Wall in Newcastle a few years back and although good ..didn't really warm to them when comparing to the real deal who I saw at Earls Court on the Division Bell Tour 😎

I love them be 7th time for me. I was a late Floyd fan 80s probably how I missed them I don't know . Saying that I remember having a early album that was pretty weird probably why I never bothered till the Wall came out. Real ones always the best .

Most people nowadays don't "listen" to music, they just consume it as background noise. Lives are too busy and also physical media takes up room but if you have the space and set aside some time to listen it is very fulfilling.

I always found it strange myself how little I play music nowadays compared to youth days. My lad and his daughter big in to it . He is good on drums and she's on grade 3 at piano and a good singer. Hopefully she keeps it up.

I'm hoping the wind has blown the middle section out or is it one for the Crazy Canuks
🙂 Well, all cultures seem to have their habits. Some prefer to ride in the trees (to maybe avoid bears and puma on the ground?) while others like being out on the sea in 20-30ft waves at >10 BFT. 😉

12 BFT is not nice in a 80 ft wooden boat.

12BFT is not nice anywhere outdoors!

I have windsurfed in 9BFT on a 70-acre lake (no distance to build up big waves). I set off from the shore and went like lightning to the end of the lake and had to be rescued because I couldn't get off the shore (which was basically a wooden fence). I thought it was super macho at the time, but in fact, it was just one of the foolish things that young men do from time to time. But BFT 12, FFS! Who goes out in that? Surely you can only get trapped by it.

Google AI:
Beaufort Scale Comparison
  • BFT 9 (Strong Gale): Wind speeds of 75-88 mph.
  • BFT 12 (Hurricane): Wind speeds of 118+ mph.
The same source also said that BFT was 57% more powerful (118/75). That is wrong. Power goes up with the square of the speed. so (118/75)^2 = 2.48, ie 148% more powerful. I would not want to be out in that!

Back in the day some Skippers thought they knew better than the weather man . I can hear them yet saying ,och that weather will never come away but it did. So you sailed out maybe got one day fishing then up it came. Not far out you could run for your life to shore , but too far you just put ships head in to wind and rode out the storm. Our town lost about four boats with all crews in the early 80s . I don't miss the fishing.
