But the old bike is killing me ..... Literally. Today, the motor hooked up badly when I dropped off a big tree root, hurtling me over the bars. Thankfully I'm a really good at controlling my falls, and I tucked and rolled, doing no damage other than creases in my helmet.
It's so hard going from a really capable EMTB to an older one with much less capability. I just keep forgetting the bikes limits.

Humford woodsWhere’s that mate ?
View attachment 156210 View attachment IMG_1585.jpegThat ride has been on my to do list for a while. How was it?Palm Canyon Epic. It starts up in the clouds behind us in the picture. It's about 25 miles of mostly black diamond single track winding through the wilderness inhabited by big horn sheep, rattle snakes, needle sharp jumping cactus, hostile Indians (I'm not kidding), and ending in Palm Springs where all the fancy pants celebrities play golf and work on their tans while lounging by the pool.
