Windy and cool out today winter gear back on. If I take my jacket off I'm the same shape as him behind me.

I used to live is a small village east of Newark and I vividly remember seeing a formation of three Vulcans out of Cranwell. There was always a single Vulcan primed and ready to go during the Cold War days. You could see it from the A17 heading to Sleaford.
I still live in a small village between Grantham and Newark. Shortly after moving in nearly 40 years ago, we drove to Lincoln for a look around. The Vulcans were still operational at that time and a couple came over really low (and really loud - the sound of freedom!) For some reason the bomb-bay doors were open. I can remember commenting to my wife and kids at the time that "you could get a double-decker bus in there!" o_O

My kids were 7 & 9 at that time, I'll ask them if they remember.

I remember about ten years back 'the final farewell flight' of the Vulcan (think it was XH588, the Doncaster Vulcan) flying parallel to my street at low level (total guess but 400-500ft?) heading towards RR in Derby. Amazing sight and sound. By the way those same engines the Vulcans used where later developed (and fitted with after burners) to become the Olympus engines used on Concorde.
East Midlands Airport has an Aero Park museum which includes a static Vulcan which you can go inside.

Bonnie !!
This is Bonnie who we adopted from a local cat rescue centre at 18 months old. Bonded with me and walks ahead of me everywhere outside. Waits for me to open the garage door and settles into her special place to keep me company while I mess with our bikes. Bright little Moggy with a bit of Siamese in her we think. A "puppycat".

Aye she's a Bonnie crater right enough

Anyway back to things Emtbing……had a few issues with the bike recently, had a 12km walk/push/ride/van recovery coming down from Windy Gyle in the Cheviots, the controller wouldn’t turn the motor on, then in the Yorkshire Dales the only way I got round was to not let the bike be stationary for more than 10 mins or press any button on the controller in that 10 min time frame so the motor wouldn’t switch itself off.
Fixed now new Purion fitted ( bike shop have to drop the motor to route cable )
£200.00……..ouch, but credit to Team Cycles on the Team Valley, Gateshead they turned the job round in s little over 3hrs after dropping the bike off
