Pic of the Day

Switched the tyres over on the Focus today to something more suitable for the mud, Specilaized Hillbilly’s being my preferred mud tyre.

A gloomy day all told, confirmed by when the M99 light went onto dipped beam rather than DRL…

Good to spin the legs anyway!

Looks like you don't have studded tires, is it safe or will there be no more snow and ice?
I never used studded tires before, it's bit slippery, but with low tire pressure it's not that bad right now. We don't have much snow nowadays, if we have some, the temps rarely keep under 0 celsius for long.

What you see in the pics, are not snow, i think it's the combination of frost and rime ice. Pics are taken at elevation of 500meter/1650feet, down in the city there is nothing, just little bit wet roads.

A very frosty Bike Park Wales this morning. I think I was one of the first people to have a run down A470 and it was sketchy as a sketchy thing - some impressive accidental drifts into and through berms where there were surprise ice patches!

My shock (Öhlins with Sprindex coil) really didn’t like the cold weather and I had to drop 20lbs off my spring rate to stop it being far too harsh so that’s something to investigate next week.

The only problem is the fingers they turn into icicles after 20 minutes

I don't know if there's a glove 🤔 invented yet for keeping immobile fingers or tootsies warm unless heated . I have a pair of Granberg I think their Norwegian . Joined a ship at Hammerfest supplied us with all the Devold merino gear. Still freezing.

Nothing help since the hand never moves but static, when skiing you move your hands all the time. I have tried many different types of "hand protection" but still freeze and heated gloves don't have elements all the way around the fingers so I ended up with thin merino gloves and 45NRTH lobster gloves outside.
Mittens would help, they are much warmer, but I don't dare to use, I rather freeze than not be able to brake properly.

I know what you mean, used mittens the other week but on a land rover track. Yes I have leather Rossignal gloves for skiing keep hands like toast.
