Yesterday I decided to do a particular off-piste trail in the opposite direction. One steep climb has a root in the middle of the trail and I found that it was best if I went to the left of it. As I was descending and thinking to myself how different everything looks, I recognised the root and went left as usual. 
Oh dear, it should have been the other left!
My left grip caught on a tree and I was ejected right, onto a pile of mud and leaves (lucky me, it could have been a stump).

Went on a 17 mile ride across Kingley Vale east to West (opposite direction to usual).

Really dull day but needed the exercise. No frost yet so the beech trees are slowly shedding their leaves creating a treacherous leaf and mud mulch underneath. The High Roller 3's didn't clog up even in deep mud, was impressed.

I was trying to work out why there was a sign stating that it was this way to Derwent and A Shop.
Just the one shop?
It's the biggest shop in the world though.
It’s not a shop but Ashop, but for someone not in Yorkshire, the sign does looks like we have a town called Penis with a shop lol

A group of us came down a good few years ago from the North East ( long before ebikes were a thing)..stayed in Glossop but then drove to Langsett Res.to start/end the ride ..doing a huge 50+ mile loop to then drive home ..arriving back in the early hours.
It's still fondly remembered by all who were there as one of the best group rides we have ever done ..and I have a lasting image of us hurtling down Mickledon Edge after Cutgate .. with the dust kicking up from tyres of the riders in front of me ..and a glorious sunset to the left ..magical
️I'll take that to my grave ( but hopefully not for a good few years yet

Yep, I have a 36 miles loop from my home, onto the TPT to langsett/cut gate followed by wharncliffe then back onto the TPT. I’ve not done the full cut gate ladybower in year and definitely need to do it again so much fun.We're you on the Trans Pennine Trail?

Made a promise to myself to bring these baby's out of retirement this year ..its been too long since they were put to good use ..
They got as far as the kitchen last night for " testing "
..still working ..just need to find the motivation for night riding again ..I'm not sure which drawer I put it in ..

Anything hobbies that happen after dark is for the working people who can't get out in the daylight .Made a promise to myself to bring these baby's out of retirement this year ..its been too long since they were put to good use ..

What I would say though is that night riding is a totally different experience ..and puts you on "edge" ..
It used to be a regular Wednesday evening jaunt for a good few years and we had some epic rides as a group .
I'm not overly keen on doing solo rides just in case the worst should happen ..and definitely won't be doing one this evening with all the spooks & ghouls out
My only experience of “ Darkness hours”riding was back and forth to work as I worked a double day shift pattern.
It makes me cold sweat just reminiscing of it……….more so than ghosts or ghouls.

I used to go out and time it getting to the top of my local hill in time for darkness then I had 7 miles back to house 5 miles offroad. I agree different experience especially when you're light catches a pair of eyesWell there is that Col.

Feeling a bit meh today. So went for a ride oot the door
No idea where I was heading but ended up at the coast was a great ride just listening to music and clearing my head

You forget how good the local stuff is close to us just nice pedalling and no pressure. I’ve often ridden from mine up to Warkworth along the coast then off road to Felton (nice coffee and a cake at the Running Fox) quiet B roads to East Chevington and on to bridleways just before Hebron to Longhirst and back to Ashganistan and home 45 mile loop. I’ve done on the Stumpy many times and a few times on the Whyte. Love it…..

There's no place like home . It's great getting out and about but most of my rides leave from my door with less faffing about. East , West along coast or South inland .Yeah so much stuff to explore oot the door

It's weird isn't it? Everyone thinks they know what a working person is until they try to define one. As long as there is stuff like that will AI ever be a threat?
