Some years ago in winter time I came down from up there in the back by snowboard. Loooooong ride down the valley. Lots of ski resorts in the Alps switching to summer mountain activities to compensate fading days with snow in winter. What might be not so good for their mountain nature as well.It really continues as a Jäger Steig aka trail made of stone slabs for quite a long distance

How did you find it? How DH is it? or is it more a park? (I'm not into big gaps and drops)View attachment 144138View attachment 144139View attachment 144140View attachment 144141View attachment 144142This was our last stop on the Alps tour.
Winterberg bike park or as they say nowadays The Mother![]()
The Mother? As they do use otherwise on the website and for shops the german „Mutti“ the translation „Mother“ might not be accurate. The way we use Mutti is more like „Mummy“ / „Ma“.View attachment 144138View attachment 144139View attachment 144140View attachment 144141View attachment 144142This was our last stop on the Alps tour.

Mostly no big gaps or drops. Just berms and jumps. There's couple of freeride or DH tracks, but you make the choice to go or not to them. Good practise place. How did you find it? How DH is it? or is it more a park? (I'm not into big gaps and drops)

Not to mix up with the other famous Mutti in Europe:

Stupid me! I first read „Lonesome Pine Closet“ and translated closet with loo, what could be helpful too.Shortly after this I left the Lakeside Way..to follow the forest road towards Wainhope ( bothy) where upon cresting the hill I could access the excellent section of singletrack on the Osprey Trail..before re-joining the Lakeside Way again ..

First ride out for a couple of weeks (yesterday)after an otb damaged the "rotator cuff" in my shoulder ..this following a cortisone injection on Tuesday which hasn't fully had a chance to kick in ..so did a "local" ride with very little technicality to ease back into things ..namely The Lakeside Way starting from the small car park near Kielder Viaduct ...
Its a 27 mile multi user route following the shoreline of Kielder Resevoir ..and bugger me but I can't remember the last time I did the full circuit which is a bit of a shame as what it lacks in technicality it more than makes up for in scenery ...and "art works" on the way around .
Apologies ..( but not really) for the amount of pics which follow.

This is the half way point being the bottom end of the resevoir ( but in reality it's a shorter route back ..on the North Shore )

Long before the multi purpose trail was built there was a skinny little section of singletrack along part of the North Shore which formed part of my " from the door " route when we lived in Falstone ..and I always stopped at these rocks for a little " contemplation" ..View attachment 144280View attachment 144281View attachment 144282
