Worst rain in my area for years. December was really bad . Ive started using my touring bike and am enjoying it.
Same here 1,000km south of you. Hilly chalk tracks are increasingly rutted by streaming water leaving chunks of (often broken) flint exposed - don't want to fall off on the flint, tears holes in you. Not for nothing did stone age man make arrow heads and other tools out of flint.

It was a tad muddy for the one of the first days of Spring here on the West Coast of Canada. The snow has all melted and my main bike is at the LBS waiting for someone to install a TCU (apparently there is a mechanic shortage going on), so it up to my spare bike to put a smile on my face!

You must be thinking of the rest of Canada.... the place known as the Great White North! Here in Vancouver, we can be out in T shirts in February which can really confuse the bears. The trails I was on today can be under 2-3 feet of snow at this time of year or completely bare. I will freely admit it does rain here but the temperature is usually mild. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, they had to truck in snow from hundreds of kms away for some of the events on the local mountains

If you're trying to make us jealous it's working pal . Even a planned pacrafting paddle for tomorrow is cancelled . Where's the Water site is giving a lot of my local rivers as Huge. Another 9 books and 50 movies it won't be far from our short summer. Enjoy yourself.

It's got me stumped why my friends say that I put my bike up on a pedestal...

Always great to ride somewhere new and went to a local National Park (D'Aguilar NP) about 40 mins from home, it's called The Gantry as they have a massive crane like structure that they used to mill the massive logs with back in the day (as you can see from this stump).
Excellent riding on a nice mix of 4WD and single tracks which were walking tracks that bikes are allowed on, not much foot traffic on a Monday fortunately, only came across 2 sets of couples. Saying that, we did 1000m of climbing over the 22km.
Another added bonus was it drops down 5 degrees Celsius up there so only about 27c instead of the 32c+ we have been having down on the coast lately.
All in all an excellent local addition to the places to ride around the Sunshine Coast.

^___ Now THAT is the Great White North people from around the world think about when they think of Canada! Over here on the West/Wet Coast, especially in Vancouver, 3" of snow would stop traffic with all the hills we have around here (until it rains the next day)!
One more lap on the pre season tour of the North Shore gave me the pleasure of riding Boogie Man top to bottom. It has several interesting features including one known as "The Drooler" for its ability to knock your teeth out if you hit it too fast, which is surprisingly easy to do when its wet!

The top part of Boogieman ends on a 300 foot bridge/structure that goes over a stream 10 feet below in the middle and raises up 8 feet in the air. What a great way to start the season!

Jelly! That’s how I feel watching your footage. I would kill to ride the singles in your neck of the woods. It’s going to be at least another two months before I can even think about pulling the Levo out of storage. :(

I've got to confess that the Boogieman would be my worse nightmare. I find the North Shore type boards really freak me out. But much Kudos for riding them.

I need to cover my eyes when I travel past the North Shore in Vancouver. Frightening, nightmare-ish! Legendary.

Grouse Mountain is suppose to develop some trails (another ski hill). My kid might be a part of that. He also upgraded the Grouse Grind. I worry about him though …he rides my HT Powerfly like it’s a unicycle.ffs.

Thorn Hill in Maple Ridge is more my speed, even though I ride Burke, Eagle and Bert Flinn mostly.

I always fancied Whistler in summer but I think it will be the Alps instead 🤔.

Do both. Whistler bike park (and Squamish, north shore, Sunshine Coast, etc) is fantastic, but so are the alps. Very different riding and styles of trail.

A ski-day-pass is $300+ now. I can’t imagine what a family and accommodation would cost. The Whistler village is nice but very touristy now.
2022 last time I was there that was six times I had been but last couple times prices very expensive but I loved that place . I went to Three Valleys a few weeks ago . I find I've been getting more scared at skiing the past few years especially when folk behind me. Plus visibility was poor this year for a few days so that's my last ski holiday definitely. Last year was awesome blue sky's every day at same place 3 vallees I said I should make it my last but didn't. On a plus note my wife said you will need to find something else. So that cycling trip I've always fancied should happen wherever it is. Rant over

Several years ago two of our boys were in CrankWorks at Whistler. One was volunteering and the other was competing. I couldn’t believe the lineups. My wife and I wandered the village for a few days. Lineups to everything. Chaos! My wife visited the souvenir shops …I babysat the dog. Unbelievable for the summer.

Didn't know what you were talking about for a little while there ..
Lineups ..over here that would mean the names of the players starting (as an example) a football match ( to clarify.. that would be soccer in your country ) ..what you have described is a queue ..😉😁

A Queue? I don’t think we’re allowed to use “fancy” words like that. This is Canada dude!😉

Completely understandable. It has been a steady progression of skill development, practice and several injuries to get to the level where I can flow down most of the trails around here. Riding with others who are better than you helps a lot! Boogieman is a Double Black for a good reason!

I was there one day queues were mega but not for skiing to get in pub at 10 am . Martin Luther day so they come from US as they can get a drink at 18 in Canada . Well I was told that anyway.

Yup. My son-in-law was a bar-tender there for a few years. He said Ausies were absolutely crazy, hardcore.

I agree, they are friendly …very friendly.
I meant Canadians . But yes Aussies are a friendly race as well. Europeans not nearly as welcoming but they probably don't understand me ì have a strange Doric accent ,if yi Kenfitamean.
