A stunning day out in the Yorkshire dales yesterday

Cold one today me and Drummond we managed to stay off the muddy singletrack for a change. Actually switched off motor to try and get more heat in body. Pensioners pace 3hrs for 21 miles but lost another two hours faffing about or maybe went through the time zone again.

I didn't take this, it was published on a local newspaper website. But I thought it was a lovely picture of our nearby beautiful South Downs with late autumn leaves on the recent snow.

Yesterday I was off as we have builders in and someone needed to be there to let them in and entertain the captain.
I also had an appointment to see a man about having the "Auto" added to the Bosch smart system. (review to follow on that)

I’m suppose to get grumpier as I get older so I’m trying to notice the small stuff …like small forks mixed in with the big forks, toilet paper rolls installed backwards, butter spread too close to the edge of a slice of toast, etc …I’ve got a lot to learn

Butter can never be spread to close to the edge, really annoys me when they miss the corners.

Castlewellan, Co Down, N Ireland earlier today.

Traditional birthday pootle today and it was rather good. Very cold but windless, and the trails were dry and riding very well. For various reasons I haven’t been out and about as much recently but I plan to correct that this year.

I recognise the importance of good nutrition before and after a ride so I ensured my body was fuelled.

A grand day out.

With between us 7 children and 10 grandchildren I think we've done just a tiny bit more than cooking and washing.
