Another loop around the downs. The trails are now so overgrown that I'm going out of my way to avoid some of the best narrow singletrack stuff because it's like a fist fight with Freddie Kreuger. Brambles & nettles are savage this year.

Oh boy ..so I've got to follow 2 sets of Swiss Pics ..but hey even though those locations are truly stunning in a different kind of way so are the grassy hills close to home which are still pretty much a mountain biking secret even to the folks in the North East of England ..The Cheviots ...and that's pretty much the way we like it 👍
Todays ride crossed over the border into Scotland in the company of Ant , Richy & Wayne ..meeting up with Colin a little later in the ride on the Border Ridge .
Yesterday absolutely tipped it down but apart from a brief but very heavy shower half way around ..the wind was the main player today gusting up to 40mph ..and at times making it difficult to stay on the track ..
Some pics

buzz..

I think that was the least of your problems.

You had to compete with :

Swiss Photo's

Jesus ! Who apparently now lives in Cumbria and rides a Whyte EMTB.

More Swiss Photo's

The Elmstreet Cage Fighter

And Superman ! Who probably has a top cap inscribed with "Tyre Pressure Doesn't Matter when you're Airborne"

Quick test yesterday to see if could ride the rough stuff in my current condition (catheterised!). Working with the health team, we came up with a solution that would allow me to ride but would it be comfortable?

Answer: Comfortable enough! (y) :giggle:

It was a ride up and around Rivington and Belmont. Up to the Pigeon Tower, then up the Pike, then up Winter Hill and down 'San Marino' - that definitely tests how comfortable things are. about a mile downhill of ruts, stones, small drops and general discomfort! :D

Only did 11 miles as the wind was giving it a good blow and the weather wasn't great (until I stopped of course). 1800ft and 930kCals.

It's good to be back on a bike!

Out and about with my lad today, building confidence on his new bike and progressing well.
His 1st ever down slope conquered

He has a bad experience history on bikes so it has taken a lot of courage to get back on one ( about 6/7 years lol ) so it's like learning from scratch again but he is doing fantastic. Very proud dad here

Bringing me back there , skied there 1999 I think . It was the start of a long line of solo ski holidays for me . Took wife to Zermat a couple years before that, it was too cold she said go your self next time.
