Pic of the Day

So I'm thinking it's a disused railway line ? We have some not that distance though. Or maybe I should check. One that cracks me up is that straight road in Australia 90 miles long ????. I knew Jenny Graham quite well she was on about cycling it she said you could see a car light but it was a couple hours before it reached you , crazy that.
Yes disused rail lines, generally hard packed limestone so easily traversed by most bikes, a few in my area(think Western end of the Great Ocean Road)closest one is 38 kms which I do often, keeps me out of traffic. There is quite a few Australia wide

We have a lot of forest tracks and a freedom to roam where you want really. Tracks all make good cycling . Just the weather is our issues at times.

I was in the UK 2 years ago, I noticed quite a few rambling tracks as we travelled, we don't have much like that, especially in rural areas where I am so rail trails are my safest option, lots of heavy vehicles(60 tonne milk tankers & the like)can blow you into the weeds.

Yes I don't use road much to be honest if I do have to it's not enjoyable. Small town so few hundred yards I'm off road for many miles if I want , any roads I have to use are quite country ones .

Only time it will be in living room , she was out when it arrived.

Same here in Germany. Some smaller lines in the county site are paved for recreational purposes, i.e. walking, biking, skating. In heavier populated areas the are converted into bike routes for communting to work. Not a bad idea as moderate inclinations only.

Happy NBD Binners. I'll give you fifty quid for the old one. (y)

Looks like alloy. 👍
Yes alloy comp model. Just had wee spin strangely it feels/handles lighter than Carbon Expert. Not much drag pedaling over assist. Speedo handy and a clock , wow things have moved on in 6 years it seems.

Anyone know how to get that bit off that's being pointed at. Just changing casings a crack on lug.

Wayne & myself met up with Alan from Glasgow at Innerleithen to tackle the route we've called The Three Bretheren ..so called because it's the furthest point away from the start with three very large cairns .
In real terms it takes in the full Inners Red Route in two halves and after dropping off Minch Moor follows the Southern Upland Way to where it meets The Minch Moor Drove Road for the highlight of the route ..the fantastic 4.5km drop down to Yarrowford .
Unfortunately what goes down must go back up and the climb from Broadmeadows to get to the Bretheren is a real challenge ..steep and very loose before a boggy drop on the side of Peat Law and then a better track to the top..
Following the Southern Upland Way back to where we left it after dropping off Minch Moor gives the rest of the Inners Red Route to finish which is mainly down down down ..
A fantastic ride and one of Wayne's favourites ( mine too) ..

You might have smiled for the camera Neil. Long time since I was down that area.

Yes Neil, a great day out and much dryer underfoot than I was expecting after seeing the rain forecast up there on Friday. Good to catch-up with Alan prior to Ballater. He rode some excellent lines.
The pic below are taken from my OS maps app.

The mixture of trails from the Brethren back on to the Southern Upland Way are worth a mention with some fast flowing single track.
All in all a grand day out. Cheers lads
