Who me ?....Nah ..I'm pure pussy cat ..which is why I haven't told Irie to Fk.offDinna poke the dragon noo.
My life’s work is complete. I will die a happy man . But if I’m now a Geordie , does that mean I have to take my shirt off if I go to a football game in February?Quite impressive Bill..
Just a small correction which stopped you getting full marks ..no g on the end of gannin and delete 'down' for alang ( which obviously means along ) ..and you were nearly an honorary Geordie ..![]()
Guilty every Saturday at that ,speaking and posting rubbish on here.I can and regularly do talk bollocks, does that count for anything![]()
Don't biteWho me ?....Nah ..I'm pure pussy cat ..which is why I haven't told Irie to Fk.off![]()
Yeah ..afraid so and you'll have to get " MAGS" tattooed across your belly for the full experience ..My life’s work is complete. I will die a happy man . But if I’m now a Geordie , does that mean I have to take my shirt off if I go to a football game in February?
I actually know a Geordie who tattooed himself on his knuckles with the name of his then girlfriend MAGS. It was in black ink and scratched in with a pin. It looked awful. We were on the same apprentice course back in the late 60's. I don't know what happened to her as Geordie boy and I went our separate ways after a couple of years. I liked him and often wondered what happened to him, but I left the city of my birth and never looked back.Yeah ..afraid so and you'll have to get " MAGS" tattooed across your belly for the full experience ..
Good weather to be had . Looks like a good day had by all.Great day out today with my old muccka Jaco ..who I've been riding with for nigh on 20years ..
One of the elder statesmen of the group ..but you wouldn't think so to look at him ..and could still whup all of our little collective up a hill..
Having had the nod ..we headed to Kielder and great credit to Forestry England for the work they have done since Storm Eowyn in terms of clearing fallen trees the "new" sections on Lonesome Pine are open Inc.Skydive ..but the final Bewshaugh drop is still officially closed while they are still felling trees.
Deadwater ..fully open ..and the first section of the Osprey Trail which follows the Forest Drive ..but be aware that the Osprey Chick section is or should be by now ...closed due to lots of fallen trees across the trail ( we found out the hard way as there was no closure sign on this section ..but reported it at the hire centre) .
We also paid a visit to the newly opened( today) Team Cycles shop & hire centre ..very impressive which has been re-arranged in terms of layout with no expense spared ..got to see the workshop ..which has Park Tools everything ..a motorised bike stand and a top of the range parts cleaner ..the staff kitchen is better than mine at home ..and it also has a shower room !
However by far the most impressive thing was the futuristic coffee machine which dispensed one of the nicest Latte's I've ever had
Anyway ..some pics ..View attachment 154011View attachment 154012View attachment 154013View attachment 154014View attachment 154015View attachment 154016View attachment 154017
A real shame that Wayne & Ant couldn't make it today ..the former due to illness ..the latter due to domestic duties ..but hopefully we'll get together next week ..
Cheers again to "The Don" Jaconelli ..Scicillian hit man extraordinaire![]()
There is a good reason for that ..Very nice area!On my local trails they did end of last year the same „improvements“ like this to some of the tracks. Looks nice and runs smooth but I prefer it „basic“(?) and less accurate. No doubt, it soln will turn back to more „natural“ trail.

Down here (West Sussex/Hampshire) Forestry England are also generally very good at keeping trails and Bridleways properly maintained, the local authorities less so.There is a good reason for that ..
The trails on these sections were "basic" ..indeed rough as a badgers arse in places ..and the first pics were on a trail which had basically been closed since Storm Arwen ...with very little chance of it being re-opened ..the same could be said for the very last section ( Bewshaugh ).
Forestry England played an absolute blinder in terms of securing funding ( £150k)from Northumberland County Council ..on the proviso that the trail(s) were accessible to all ..which meant that they were widened more than previously to accommodate adaptive bikes .
While the trails are smooth they do have some quite savage berms / jumps etc and as you have alluded to they will bed in ( deteriorate over time ) ..
Faced with a few miles of trail never seeing the light of day again ..or what has been created I'm delighted with the outcome![]()
Yes but it doesn't really rain down there does it . Someone goes out once a week with a sweeping brush and a cloth to dry up any moisture .Down here (West Sussex/Hampshire) Forestry England are also generally very good at keeping trails and Bridleways properly maintained, the local authorities less so.
I have a son living in Aberdeen and a daughter living near Stirling. I do get reports.Yes but it doesn't really rain down there does it . Someone goes out once a week with a sweeping brush and a cloth to dry up any moisture .![]()

YeahWell, that’s the morning taken care of…what did you do in the afternoon?
Hardcore!Yeah, now that I think about it,…ended kinda early, 1:00 pm.
A mass start at 8:00am by numerous teams stating high on Mount Washington ski hill. I think 7 athletes per team. Some pro teams from as far away as Australia. I did the road bike portion one year.
If you could still walk straight, you could play a round of golf in the afternoon. We liked the social and reunion festivities after the race instead.
