Toadstool.jpg

The trails in the UK pine forests are littered with this toadstool right now. Eventually they get broader and flatter before going brown and shrivelling up. Nothing ever seems to eat them. They look poisonous, anyone know what they are called?
I'll bet it's called DeathCap, RedShitter, OneStep, or something equally ominous!

Thanks guys

Wikipedia: Arguably the most iconic toadstool species, the fly agaric is a large white-gilled, white-spotted, usually red mushroom, and is one of the most recognizable and widely encountered in popular culture. ..... Although classified as poisonous, reports of human deaths resulting from .......ingestion are extremely rare.

Probably because it looks so dangerous. Not likely to be eaten by mistake then.

I wonder what it tastes like?
