Pic of the Day

My first car was a MK2 Escort, beige, 1.6, but we spray painted it a fade blue to purple with sparkly glitter tints. It was the early 90’s and it was my rave mobile 🤪
90's ...😂
1977..brand new motor courtesy of Nestle ..I had the Mk1 for a few weeks until a work mate wrote it off on our induction course nr Colchester ..lucky to get out of that car alive and wouldn't have if seat belts had been compulsory at the time ..
It resembled a cheese wedge with the front totally mashed ..we got thrown into the back and got out of the rear window with scratches & bruising ..
Edit ..it might have been a bit later than '77 ..I don't remember if I got another klunker before that 🤔

We're very lucky, this view is just a five minute ride from our house. We live next door to a Nature Park that is laced with trails and has an active trail building club that is busy reviving old hiking trails and building new dedicated mtb routes. Our local community has recently been awarded a $650,000 grant to build a E-MTB trail network including a recharge station. Hopefully the system will not be just a green route and include some challenging trails.

These are from just this week.

And nearby a new bike park with some more serious trails. Sorry, I'm too old for these jumps and nobody else was around. Oh to be thirty again!

And a couple from a recent trip to Cypress Hills Alberta. An interesting landform of mountains that rise up from the prairies of the Alberta plains.
Prairie on one side, forested hills on the other.

Discovered I had a puncture when I got back home, changed inner tube and then discovered another puncture FFS. Did what I should have first time and inspected tyre to find this little devil ( not the 5p ) sticking through.

Lesson ( for me as I'm not tubeless obviously ) is to always check rim and tyre before installing a new inner tube

First time on the bike in 3 weeks for a wee pedal up Ben Chonzie up through Lagan wood past the Deil’s Cauldron out onto the road and up the glen then out on to the hill and up and up and up a bit more to the top no trig point 🤷‍♂️ We then took a sedate decent to a saddle (visibility was poor and grip was nil )We climbed down to Loch Turret (what do you call downhill hike a bike 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️) a pedal down the loch side and across the dam to work our way through the foot hills back to Comrie
