True to Specialized bastardizing componetry, there are very few choices for chainrings. It looks like there is no option for direct mount, which is my favorite, and only a couple of choices for the 94BCD 32 & 34 tooth rings. What exactly are you guys using?
 
My motor has 42.6.1c (US spec) but I did not notice any difference from before the update.
 
Whats everyone doing to protect their drivetrain after a quick spray-down? After only my second ride, I rinsed off some dust, and after everything dried, I was very surprised to see my NX chain ring, chain, and cassette with some slight rust ALREADY! WD40 fine? Teflon spray?Trying to figure out the best way without overspraying and making a mess on the otherwise cleaned bike.

WD40 PTFE spray. It's all I use in summer as a super 'dry' lube. A blast of that shifts the water, knocks off a lot of the dirt and grease, and lubes nicely.

Upgrades: Fox 36 160mm and CC IL Coil with 210x52.5mm Onza tires and Newmen carbon bar and stem. Perfect bike, great DH performance with tunable coil shock and still arround 18,4kg.
When the NX is worn down I'll upgrade to GX and safe some weight to get <18kg.

I dry off the bike with a cloth, then use GT85 spray on anything that moves and isn't brake related. I wipe off the excess. Then some Finish Line dry lube for the chain.

That is light! My comp Carbon SL build (XL) with carbon bar, front and rear sus upgrades, GX drivetrain comes in at 19.1kg!

My pedals do weigh 430g. My spec is below, keen for advice on how to shed some weight! Not too concerned, still an amazing ride, just beefier than expected.

The. Wheelset on the. Carbon comp is very heavy. Light carbon wheels and lighter tires are a must if you want to get in the 16kg area.
 
my engine has given up on my levo SL. It started with the engine sound changed after about 500km. Then the crank was not disengaged from the engine so the pedals cranked by a quarter of a turn when you stopped pedaling. Now the crank goes around but does not pull the chain with it ... Has claimed a warranty in June and still has not had the error fixed. Anyone else with similar problems?

How did you fit a 34T on the SL? I tried a 34T but it hits the chainstay on my 2020 SL. Looks like a 32T is as large as I can go with the stock setup.

You need an offset 34T chain ring. Plenty of people have 34T on, and the manual says the biggest you can go is 34T.

When you say offset, you mean a 3 or 6 mm, as in boost, etc.? Could you link to the proper ring? Of course that would effect the chainline, but maybe that doesn't matter?
 
Can anyone with a better understanding of suspension help out-
I want to upgrade the rear shock on my SL and I’ve found a dpx2 210 - 55 second hand. The shock is off a bike with 140 rear travel so I guess the suspension leverage is different. So the question is, will the dpx2 work correctly on an SL or will it need altering/ tuning.

Yes, it will work fine. You will have to adjust air pressure for your weight and riding style. You can add tokens if you need more progressive damping.

I've had my Expert SL for about 2 months, I've put 500 miles on it and have slowly been adding upgrades. 200mm rear rotor, Enve bar and stem, ESI grips, 160mm MRP Ribbon coil and finally ( for now! ) a Push 11-6. Long term it would be cool to lighten it back up, wheelset, cranks, cassette and a longer stroke dropper. This bike rips!

Thanks, Yeah I can do that stuff but it was the custom tune that fox do for OEM frames i.e degressive/linear/ soft- firm tune etc. depending on how the OEM rear sus is working. I’m not sure whether it makes much diffence, or whether it can be manually tuned out using the user adjustment settings.
