new cef55 frame

Wow! This might be the one for me. The 205mm shock length is strange, but you can use an offset bushing if you have the much more common 210mm length shock.
205mm is a trunnion size while 210 is a conventional eyelet metric size.

Some shocks can run an air can spacer to simultaneously reduce eye-to-eye length as well as travel. Otherwise the offset bushings are probably a viable alternative, and will get you close to a net 205mm length. Depending on if the frame comes with hardware to run a concenttional shock, you may also need to get creative in finding a way to mount the shock. You can swap out the 10mm ID bearings for 8mm ID ones. Or in the past, Ive drilled out chainring bolts to use as spacers to run an M8 sex bolt through the 10mm trunnion bearings.

Ah thanks for the insight. It didn't cross my mind that it's design for trunion mount. Which makes sense why the top tube shock mount is so large.

Has anyone tried the extender yet? Or do you know how it works? I mean, does it draw power from the extender and the main battery at the same time, or does it draw power first from one and then the other? Does it have a power limit like the Orbea Rise?

205mm trunnion shock is same as 230mm normal shock with 57.5-65mm stroke. 185mm trunnion is same as 210mm normal with only 47.5-55mm stroke. This frame is made for 65mm stroke, you would gain nothing with strange adapters. If numbers are correct it has 180mm rear travel with 65mm stroke. This could be a really nice frame!

I already have a frame with a nice 210x55 shock and don't want to spend a lot more on a new new shock. I just want move all my parts over. The spec sheet says 55-65mm stroke for 150-180mm travel. 180mm is WAY too much travel. I was trying to find a way to use my 55mm stroke shock to achieve 150mm travel for my intended trail use. Thanks!

How much will a bike cost in Russia? What components will be installed on the bike? Will the bike be cheaper than amflow?

The bike is cheaper than Amflow. It costs about 5500$. Components: Bafang m560, Shimano slx brake, front sus RockShox Yari 35, rear sus RockShox super delux ultimate 210-65, transmission Shimano slx m7100.

I'm confused about the rear shock absorber. What is the size of 210x65? I think it's an expensive RockShox super delux ultimate rear shock absorber for such an inexpensive bike. Where can I purchase it?

210x65 is really strange. I just copied data from the seller's page. I think the correct size is 210x55, 210x65 is a mistake.

The CEF55 is 210x55 - standard eyelet mount.
The CEF69 is 205x65 - standard trunnion mount.
The second number (stroke) is variable depending on how much wheel travel you want.

Here's an update on the cef 55 with a fox x2 210x55. The shock is rubbing against the top tube and the shock mount. Any recommendations on what shock to get?

Where are people buying these frames from? I rather fancy the idea of one

Wow! that build looks so nice! I also got the PDF with the 210 shock.. Can you list out the parts you've used in this build?

can't wait for the ride review! i'm interested in getting this emtb frame aswell and currently in talks with jean. but still apprehensive if i should bite the bullet.
Weight....
I am going to make an universal jig to measure horizontal "center of gravity". Instead of using a calculated distance, to make life a bit easier, simply I will measure the weight at the front wheel of a few bikes and post the results. IMHO total weight is not so important. More interesting is weight distribution.

As an example, two bikes I have, one have 3,9kG and the other 4,5kG at the front wheel, while lifting it off the ground slightly, held by the pedals
Following this thread as I'm looking at getting one of these in the next month or two. Already spoke to Jean so just waiting on a guinea pig to build one up haha

A super deluxe should fit, since silo got a deluxe in there. I saw a Float X fitting fine.

I saw his post. I'm now looking for a float x to fit in there. Knowing that the x2 won't fit, I assumed the DHX2 won't fit either since they have the same mounting bracket.

Bummer to hear the X2 wont fit. And that's concerning because it may mean other Fox shocks may have the same issues. It looked like they might have been on the third revision of he frame already (ie CEF-55-3). Perhaps this was something the revisions addressed?

I'm hoping the Manitou Mara pro will fit. The main air can diamater is 51mm on the mara pro, while it's 57.7 mm on the x2. Also, the top cap is recessed by the eyelet to avoid the rubbing you experienced. Unfortunately I won't be able to confirm for at least another month, since I'm still waiting for the frame to ship.

There is another CEF 55? I would like to see that.
Here is my top tip if you have already got your frame. Always check pivot bearings and axle. When I received my CEF 55. I immediately pulled apart the chainstay and some fo the bearings. Then regreased everything. Just to be sure.
I think the Manitou Mara Pro will fit because of that type of recess near the eyelet.

I wouldnt say its another frame, it was simply based off my invoice showing part number CEF-55-3, which I assumed the -3 was the revision number. I suppose it could alternately signify size, with -3 specifying size large.

Has anyone built a bike on a CEF69 frame with a Bafang M560 engine? What was the total weight of the bike?

This weight question keeps coming up all the time. All these frames weigh more or less the same, +- 1/2 kg. Add 1/2 kg if you are using the M560 instead of M510 and withdraw 1/2 kg if you use M820. The rest is components, the battery being the most significant concerning weight. Everything is a compromise.
