As i noted in some other thread, I am excited to see Bosch offer this choice. Lots to like. Let’s see what the efficiency is to make the most of 400Wh. And i am a bit unsure of the range extender - doesnt look like it fits in a normal bottle cage, so need to see how (or even ‘if’) this is integrated in to bikes.

Quick test;
Feels like a mini performance CX - it’s really punchy. All the modes like EMTB mode perform exactly like the full fat. This system has great potential!

Yes. This one is backwards compatible and will work with the full fat bikes.

It’s called PowerMore and will fit into the existing charger port.

Note: apparently not all bikes have been tested but technically it will work, just the frame bottle mount need to be beefy enough for it to fit.

Everything in the Smart System is modular, so technically yes, BUT, you'd need a frame that would accommodate this battery size and shape.

The battery wont sit in that frame properly as thats designed for the 625 / 750. The new 400 is slimmer in width.

So the 400Wh battery requires a slim downtube etc as the dimensions are smaller than the 750 / 625 (the 625 is just a short 750 where as the 400 is both shorter and slimmer).

Power is torque multiply by rotation so to me it mean that this engine deliver the 600Watt at high cadency ( RPM) because only 55nm of torque. Kind of a VETEC Honda engine small torque high rev give high power.

Are the conection the same? because length and width is nothing that you can't go around with a 3D printer.

According to New 2023 Bosch Performance Line SX motor first ride review - Smart, sporty and slim?, Turbo is 340% and EMTB mode is up to 340% assistance but limited to 40Nm sustained and 55Nm in shorter bursts. So for a rider output of 176 watts @ 104rpm, you'll get the full 600W. That' pretty good if correct!

With 400% assist and Bosch being very tight lipped about max wattage I would say the CX Race easily

When you review it could you do some lower cadence testing please, it got marked down for this in the above review, as an older bimbler who needs to lift for stiles/gates etc light weight is great (hopes raised, new Ktm 16.5kg, sx, 400w removable, bosch motors generally repairable) but assistance at a lower Cadence is appealing as well. Ta.

I do not trust any 250 battery. We all know the last 1/4 is wayyy less than 1/3 of the top 75%.
It all depends how smart the system really is. Any one is happy from a 250watts after 2 years??
I know 400watts is not enough to deal with real cold and snow/ice.
What is the total price with the 2 batteries???

Interesting. According to Bosch site it’s possible to run bikes on just the PowerMore.

250wh PowerMore is 1.6KG
750wh Powertube is 4.3KG

Seems a quick and easy way to shed 2.7KG of battery for those 1 hour quick blasts.
