Thought I would spin a thread on the new PX/Px Pro -

I have had my Pro for 3 weeks, initial impressions are:

Def a step up from the PL Pro I had in every area, ride is nicer, Suspension compliance is much better, no doubt the latest fox 36 helps as it is much lower friction off the top, but the rear also feels more compliant. I run in full 29 with the stays in the longest setting. It climbs way better than the PL, where that would lift the front up really steep climbs, this is rock solid.

Motor has zero rattle and is also much quieter under power, really nice. The power delivery is actually different too, it feels much more natural than the M1. Even with the acceleration setting turned to full it still doesn't feel as 'assisted' as the M1 did. The M1 you felt like it was giving you a push, the M2 feels more natural - quiet hard to describe.

Range wise, I came from a 600w Pro so obviously much better, so very happy with it.

Weight wise, I run the bikes in more a XC config as that's the type of riding I do, I switch out all the lighter components from my PL onto the PX and they weigh they same, so the new motor, bigger battery and new frame didn't add any weight, which would mean, like for like components the new PX Pro would actually be lighter than the PL Pro with 800.

Looks wise, the grey looks great and the really slim down tube really does look like a conventional bike, its super slim

Things which aren't quite as good as the PL, the dropper, whilst it's got a long drop (190mm on a medium) - its really quite slow in extension and quite sensitive to how far you push the lever, you literally have to push it to the stop to get the post to rise with any sort of speed. It's way slower than the Fox Factory on the PL - however that did often stick at the last 10mm, the amlfow post doesn't do that, but it is slow. I need to weigh it and see how it compares. Might end up changing that in due course..The supplied water bottle cage is left hand access, which is really strange, so I designed and 3d printed my own version. Reviews mentioned brake pad rattle on the stock brakes, I switched the brakes so cannot comment on that.

Overall I am super impressed, its def a step up from the PL and that was/is still an amazing bike.

anyone else got any impressions ?

100% agree with all of this. I am still in the stock config though. For me the biggest two points from your review are:

1. How natural the power delivery is compared to any other bikes. Its incredibly powerful but feels like it delivers it in the background, if that makes any sense at all. In Auto mode it feels like you have to put just that little bit more W of power in yourself before it ramps up, and the delivery feels perfectly matched with when you want it. I do 90% of my rides in Auto now.

2. The look and feel of the bike having a downtube as wide as a Red Bull can! I knew it was a slim bike but it has blown me away.

Expectations were high, but the above two are what really surprised me.

The only thing I dislike are the stock brakes, almost entirely because they start to rattle if I go 5 seconds without using them. Performance wise they actually aren't as bad as some make out, at least in my opinion. This is going to be the first thing I replace. Or once the honeymoon period is over I'll live with the noise and keep them.

I'm enjoying mine. It was an upgrade from a 2020 Turbo Levo.
I just wish I could ride it properly, but I think I've got tennis elbow and it's painful to grip and move my arm too much, so I've only done a little over 100k so far.

The dropper post has been much better/quicker since I opened the collar, took out a spacer and dumped some thin wiper oil in there. Now it rises much quicker with a 'thunk' as it hits the top.

I've swapped in the 0.5 headset cup, set the linkage to long and the chain stay pivot to 2 to help with climbs, but also switched out one of the headset spacers for a thicker walled one and moved it to the top of the stem to lower the handlebars slightly and weight the front more.

I'm also mostly using auto mode. I find it adapts quite well.

After changing the stock black brake pads for silvers I like the stopping power of the brakes, but the pad rattle is annoying.
I saw a post on Facebook where people were fitting 0.4mm wire 5mmx10mm compression springs between the pads to reduce the rattle, so I'll probably end up trying this at some point.
Not too keen on the chunky plastic-bodied levers.

Has anyone spotted any fixes or hacks for sealing the underside of the headset, by the crown race?

[Edit] Has anyone tried removing the steering lock limiter?
It looks like the fork would clear my medium frame.

I replaced the dropper cable with a Jagwire pro this morning and the dropper extends much quicker now for some reason.
