But the downtube is skinny! Doesn't that negate any safety concerns?I think I need to post this in the largest US MTB forum (500,000 members at least on MTBR.com) so people are better informed. I made an assumption that ebike batteries and chargers sold in the US were UL listed but obviously not. Given the number os ebike charger/battery related fires, this should be a big deal for people to consider.
On every charger I have (especially ebikes) I monitor how warm the charger and downtube get the first few times and I no longer leave them charging if leaving home or going to bed. I set an alarm so I do not forget and go to bed. The last thing I need is to burn down my house and family. I do not have an EV yet but I will do the same when I get one. Thanks for whomever brought up the UL listing point.
