Mondraker Zendit Avinox

@Singletrackmind ..... Question for you on the seatpost, I have a Large Zendit RR, Im 6Ft and the stock seatpost does not go as low as I would like and its on the long side when fully out. I got a SEEKRUN S7 175mm wireless and its perfect as I can slam it all the way down and run it wide open also, but Im having a hard time getting the old dropper cable out. I took off the 2 water bottle bolts and the little Allen bolt where the cable enters the front of the frame, and tried pulling it thru the front but its getting hung up on something, I think in the lower part of the battery area? Got any thoughts ?

Thx Karl

Hey Karl,
My dropper cable came out with no problem after following the steps I mentioned.

I would try dropping your motor, not taking it out all the way and if that doesn't work, remove the battery.

Bummer, I thoght you might say that, I tryed to find some info on dropping the motor or removing the battery but did not find any.

If I had to remove the dropper cable again I would cut off the end of the cable 1st.

I don’t have a zendit but do have the new crestline. You can watch the crestline build video on their youtube to see how to drop motor. Very easy. 2 rear bolts to remove skid. Then loosen rear motor mount bolt (not fully remove), and remove forward motor mount bolt. You can then swing it down and out of the way. If your battery is 800wh there’s one bolt bottom frame and one under the screen. So remove screen then you will see where bolt is.

Start tinkering and learning this stuff. Helps in the long run and buy the necessary tools so you aren’t dependent on the shop for small things. Torque values for motor mount bolts is 15nm.

Sounds good, thx I'll give it a shot, I have plenty of tools.

Man these are just such amazing bike to ride and look at, love this photo. I would love to hide the cables tho !!!

How does the Saturn color look in person? I really liked the blue frame on the top tier model, but was going to replace the majority of the components regardless. The black looks sick in person actually has 3 different tones.

Great point about watching the Crestie video, seems pretty cut and dry. I followed a very similar process on my Crestline S180 even though it has Bosch Gen5 motor and it worked spectacularly!

For me the Saturn color is amazing, I love it and it hides dust so well. Everone loves the Green also, but I did not know the Black had so many tones untill I saw your photos here, it looks sick, so mean. I love what you did to your Zendit, they are already so rare and yours is over the top now !!

Well it was real EZ to get to the dropper cable, all I did was remove the 3 small bolts for the motor cover and it was right there. I cut the end off and it pulled right tho.

For anyone else wanting to remove your dropper cable just cut the seat post end off and then pull it thru the front.

Frst ride on the Zendit Saturn RR Large today. Pretty awesome bike.

I had a Santa Cruz Bullit before. Comparing the two I would say the bullit is the more plush bike, its a bit softer and more 'magic carpet'. The Zendit frame feels stiff, its most noticeable when climbing fire roads at speed, The small bump vibrations go right through the frame and into your body. I reduced tyre pressure which helped a bit, but at times I ended up standing up climbing to avoid that feeling. I suspect the Bullit has a delibrately more flexy frame, which results in a plush feel and more comfortable climbing (in my opinion).

On the downs the Zendit generally was great. I am surprised at how poppy and active it is for an Ebike, I feel like the stiff frame and rear linkage are made to go fast, without maybe feeling overly plush (sort of like how a Yeti SB160 feels against the more plush SC Megatower) I do think Fox's recommended fork settings are too stiff, so I will reduce air etc there. The Float X is using plenty travel, it feels generally quite plush but it gets a little overwhelmed when things are super chunky and steep. I may investigate swapping it for a coil or a larger air can, I like the active feeling but I would love to get it feeling closer to the Bullit. For reference I was very close to buying the Bullit 4 but opted for the Zendit instead.

Bigger issue, after a few miles, I started notice a high pitched creak noise if I apply any pressure on either side of the handlebar, I cannot decide if this is the headset making a creaking noise, or the actual handlebar / stem, anyone else had this issue? I hear it both climbing and descending , its like when any pressure is applied to the handlebar theres a weird creak sound.

Had my first ride on the Zendit Saturn RR Large. Pretty awesome bike. Fox recommended settings on the 38s feel way too stiff for me, barely using half travel, will be reducing air next time.

I had a Santa Cruz Bullit before. Comparing the two I would say the bullit is the more plush bike, significantly softer. The zendit frame feels super stiff to me, when climbing fire roads at speed I feel like its actually very jittery, as your not engaging any suspension, so all the small bumps go right through the frame and into your body. The Bullit had a more flexy, playful feel which did result in more comfortable climbing (in my opinion) on the downs however once you are working the Zendit it feels great, but for sure I would say its a much more race-feeling bike than the ultra plushness I had with a Bullit. Not disappointed, just different.

Congratz, great photo !! You have a rare bike, I have the exact some one.

Did you have a look at the Zendit manual, its has very detailed suspension setup recommendations, using it I had the opisite feeling you did, it feels very plush, yet racy when you need it to. As far as the creak, maybe the dealer did not tighten things up as they should, I had to fine tune mine after the 2nd ride.

You will love this bike when you get it dialed in.

Cant say I looked in the manual! I used this here, I just googled Zendit 38 setup, not sure if this is the same as the manual ?

Yes thats it, Im not a jumper so I used the next one below my reccomended weight, try that. Go down 1 or 2 below your reccomended weight, at least its a good baseline to start with.

Had to wait extra six weeks for the Saturn colour - black it is(or will be)😉

I’ve found I get creaking from the plastic headset spacers and was able to fix by torquing the headset a little more. I wouldn’t say the sound was high-pitched, however.

Just curious to your thoughts on the stock Wheelset on your RR Zendit? I'm very partial to I9's with Hydra 2 hubs/Enduro 300 rims. Will be selling most of the stock components that came on my RR.

My thoughts on Zendit reflect your experience. @Skatefarmer I'm in agreement with @KarlC, my bike rides plush, yet agile and poppy and will be interested in your feedback once you get that bad boy dialed in!

Love to hear that as the bike will be total overkill for my local trail's

thought I would post this for anyone wondering about range.

This is a ride from 100% to 0%. Mostly in Auto mode, but then a lot of Eco to preserve battery once below 20%

I weigh 95kg kitted up. Size Large. I would say the range is roughly as I expected. I was hoping to manage 1500-2000m elevation rides on a single charge, for that I will need to be in Eco.

I’m posting this as I was struggling to find much online on total range before buying.

Interesting. I have always suffered much higher battery consumption that any of the others I ride with, even those of similar size (person and battery). I just changed out the standard 38 ring for a 36 and for the first ride ever I came back with more battery than the others. It also felt better on the climbs and acceleration.

The stock wheels on the Zendit RR are not great as others have said here and on the Zendit FB group. I'm not a jumper, to many of my freinds have permanent issues from jump crashes, so I will likely not have an issue and run them until I do.
