Frst ride on the Zendit Saturn RR Large today. Pretty awesome bike.
I had a Santa Cruz Bullit before. Comparing the two I would say the bullit is the more plush bike, its a bit softer and more 'magic carpet'. The Zendit frame feels stiff, its most noticeable when climbing fire roads at speed, The small bump vibrations go right through the frame and into your body. I reduced tyre pressure which helped a bit, but at times I ended up standing up climbing to avoid that feeling. I suspect the Bullit has a delibrately more flexy frame, which results in a plush feel and more comfortable climbing (in my opinion).
On the downs the Zendit generally was great. I am surprised at how poppy and active it is for an Ebike, I feel like the stiff frame and rear linkage are made to go fast, without maybe feeling overly plush (sort of like how a Yeti SB160 feels against the more plush SC Megatower) I do think Fox's recommended fork settings are too stiff, so I will reduce air etc there. The Float X is using plenty travel, it feels generally quite plush but it gets a little overwhelmed when things are super chunky and steep. I may investigate swapping it for a coil or a larger air can, I like the active feeling but I would love to get it feeling closer to the Bullit. For reference I was very close to buying the Bullit 4 but opted for the Zendit instead.
Bigger issue, after a few miles, I started notice a high pitched creak noise if I apply any pressure on either side of the handlebar, I cannot decide if this is the headset making a creaking noise, or the actual handlebar / stem, anyone else had this issue? I hear it both climbing and descending , its like when any pressure is applied to the handlebar theres a weird creak sound.
