Levo Gen 4 Levo Gen4 Pre-release Specs and Images

They're like excessive makeup đź’„ .. they help distract your from the general visual bleughhh..
It's pretty many negative comments regarding color and downtube but is that more important than how the bike is to ride which no one knows yet?

Sure I have just never seen it before and there is a Eliminator T7/T9 tire available
Specialized have specced Butchers on the rear of some bikes. Status and Enduro both come with it on the rear. I don't think Specialized have ever marketed as a front only option.

Another pic of the comp. I don't really mind the side loading battery tbh but they could have easily made it under loading. Don't think a SWAT box is enough reason to go with sideloading for the amount of hate it will generate.

Is that a 36 on a bike with an 840Wh 4kg battery 🙆‍♂️

Yes, the comp build come with 36s. 38s on the rest.
Dang, really, that maybe works for skinny ass 70kg(160lb) dudes?
Imo 36-s belong on 20(44lb)kg emtbs, everything above that needs a 38, especially bikes with big heavy batteries, riden by big 85/90kg (190/200lb) dudes.

But why is it Butcher tires at the back?

I usually run Butcher on the back, Mary on the front. Butchers are super cheap and work well.

Just wondered if it was delivered like that or changed because the owner wanted something else

It sort of looks like someone glued the downtube on in the wrong position and it should have been under loading !?!

I'm not sure why, but it just seems to make the whole thing look like a much older bike ???

Sure the motor will be amazing and it will ride great, but it's really MEH on the looks front for me.
If you feel like it , compare the gen 1 to the gen 4. I was always impressed with the way people would not recognize the Gen 1 as an ebike.

At this price point the” look back” test is very important. Not as important as just how well it rides but at 12.5k here in UK it needs to look good also, no doubt the dark red paint will help..

I can't help myself, I just dislike the side loading battery. But I'm not in to market to buy this anyway, more into Gen3 as a second emtb...but then Brose was sold so I don't know anymore. I have doubts how the support will go to the older models...

Found a more similar sized 2023 Gen3 for comparison (Carbon not alloy like the one above) :

And with a 2018 Gen1 :

Was the gen 1 not full 27.5? Look like you have it scaled up to match the 29 front wheel of the Gen 4?

Yup, good point .. but with the fat tyres the wheels came out pretty similar outer diameter to a 29 so I went that way .. Will do a downscaled one.. it might look like a little baby !

Try matching the rear rim diameters against each other maybe. Even scaled up you can really see how stretched out a modern bike is.

So after tomorrow:) then, i take it we will all see each other in 3 years time for the Gen 5......

We still have to go through the “ten things specialized need to fix with the gen 4.5” as well as the “can I fit the gen 4 motor to my gen 2/3 levo, and if not shame on you specialized” phases before that…

By the looks of it that might not be a bad move......

Rode a Pro Carbon in the LBS car park yesterday. First ever ride on a Levo as I have had 3 Trek Rails. While a long way from a real conclusive ride. I put a deposit down on it. Neglected to get photos when I went out of sight, and when I asked later was a strict no. They look good in the flesh, and the sideload battery reveals a nice little SWAT storage pouch that magnetically sticks to the back of the headtube in front of the battery.
