Fast charging would be good to have only as an option (with a press of a button on the charger or setting in the app), but fast charging the battery every charging session when most of the time you won't really need it or benefit from it, will just make the battery degrade much faster ...
So ... the new Levo will have several charging modes which will enable you to select how fast it will charge the battery ... Very nice feature!

That is a very nice feature. I always charge the night before a ride, so I will usually turtle charge it for optimum coddling of the battery. Nice to have the option to charge fast if I forget to plug it in, or plans change.

interesting, Brose Ebike branch to be sold to Yamaha:

Makes sense with all the blue spy shots - Yamaha/Specialized with Eli/John Tomac . . . true shock the industry stuff

Sure does look like the Levo SL with an oversized down tube ( just as reported months ago by a member who saw it in Spain).
The frame is definitely is evolutionary and not revolutionary. That is not a bad thing.
What do we gain with Gen 4 over Gen 3? Primarlly and hopefully a reliable motor, 48v system which runs cooler, quick charging and more power/torque and battery options to tailor weight to intended ride range by battery choice. Also better esthetics, ( no hump) and possibly better handling due to lower CG of motor and battery. Courious to see the geometry numbers, my guess is possibly slightly shorter chainstays?
All this comes at a hefty price, such is the nature of the bleeding edge, always been the case in the bike industry. R & D and production costs money . Thoughts?
Unlikely that it will have a lower center of gravity with a bigger, sideloading battery.

ok, with smaller battery you can save 1kg, with XC brakes, XC handlebar, XC wheels, XC tires - another 1-2kg ...
great :)
New specialized xc front wheel 500gr! Singleplay casing tire with xc CC, New 160mm 36 fork loose over 2-4kg

Power requirement on a tough climb quickly exceed what the standard "full fat" motors available today (not including DJI Avinox) can output, unless you find a crawling speed acceptable.

As the motors now goes beyond 600 watts, the max assistance in % also need to be increased. DJI chose 8x or 800%.

I find the comparison with cars inaccurate as todays cars have an abundance of torque and power, especially electric cars. Not so on emtbs.

The benchmark is set. 1000 Watts, 120 Nm, 800% assistance, the motor weighs 2.5 kg and as per all the reviews - the motor control is excellent. This is what Spesh is up against. Lets hope the new Levo will not disappoint, it's going to be here for at least 3 years.
Price for sure.

Good to see the sneak peak pics are up on Specializeds page. Charge port is no longer hidden. Or is that where the extender plugs in?
Looks like the controller is cable run again.

I'm so excited to see it! Does anyone know the approximate prices for the Expert and Carbon? An estimate in euros would be perfect.

I gotta keep my trap shut about it but I’ve now seen pics and got to hear about the specs. The S Works is going to absolutely change the industry. Many of the recent predictions about the power and battery sizes are close enough, if not 100% correct, but you guys are not thinking outside the box enough. Specialized is really coming out swinging this time….and that moc up pic is pretty accurate. The bike looks good.
