I don't think Specialized are trying the compete with the Rail+. That thing is the most vanilla, middle of the road and boring release in a long time. Absolutly nothing ground breaking or progressive about it.

It will be all of those and still outsell the Alibaba Amflow. Yeah Amflow made a statement, lets check back in a year or two and see how those frames are doing. I've owned a few DJI products, none of them are still working.
Just out of curiosity, have you seen the new rail? The geo is good, the standover is good, they are offered in alloy. It can run 180mm fork and has a big battery. the only issue I have is it’s only 160mm in the rear. I would take a rail over that flexie amflow all day long.
Yes I have. My comment was specifically in relation to the new one. There’s nothing impressive about it imo. If anything I think the Rail is about one more iteration away from becoming a full on eSUV/gravel path tourer.
Im just saying under 50 lbs with a 800-1000wh battery can be done now. The newer batteries are getting lighter.
I agree about the new Rail+ being a little vanilla. Although the new lighter/quieter gen 5 Bosch and lighter 800wh battery is pretty sweet. Plus it can take a battery extender which makes it pretty tempting. If I didnt get a crazy deal on a new Levo last month Id be on a Rail+. Ive had 6 Levos and really thought about the Rail+.

In the end it was gen 3 vs Amflow. After the gen 3, I took the Amflow for a ride and was super impressed. Not been disappointed since.

I had Gen2 Levo previously and now Shimano..and also Bosch on my commuter. Never thought I need more power.

Correct me if I’m wrong but is it all about power , what about efficiency from battery how about ride ability , still now the guys that do reviews on all the bikes Amflow ,whyte etc etc there Goto if they are not sponsored after they have ridden the Amflow is still a Levo regardless of power .The Amflow is good but is it great ? The Specialized you know what ever they release will not only rival but give an excellent ride, power where you need it when you need it on a balanced bike second to none. I think we are in for a bike that preforms in the top 3 releases this year of any of the bikes that are being released, and I think that most riders will reach their limit way before they reach the bike’s limit
I have a full-power ebike (albeit a few years old now) and honestly would be very happy to have more power. Everyone has their own preferences.

I spent 4 years on a Shimano E8000 (70nm) and once on a more powerful bike, I realised that all the Levo’s around me were absolutely having my pants down.
But E8000 is history, I`m prefering current 85Nm-90Nm bikes
But there so many variables how and where people are riding. I`m riding singletracks and bike parks and so no need for more power.

I don’t need more power either , more range yes , as for the Specialized , Amflo argument personally I wouldn’t touch Amflo and that’s from someone who’s had issues with my Levo the last 18 months, at least I can get the Levo fixed relatively local, nearest Amflo dealer is 120 mile round trip
A DJI motor and battery in my KSL would be awesome, but then a 1.2 Mahle would also be awesome, so I'm not exactly particular.

It was down to what was available at the lb shops. Orbea Wild was an option but too burly for my needs. The Chinese special handles 3 - 6’ jumps no problems - which is all I need.

I sold my gen 3 levo for an amflow. I hated way the levo clips power output when the motor is under constant load and heat becomes an issue, I'm not talking turbo mode either as 90% of my rides where always trail.
As for the bike itself the levo aluminium frame was way more rigid and felt rock solid going down the trails, the amflow is flexy and I'm not talking the stem and bars. If you're on the heavier side 100kg+ you'll feel it.
I would have liked another levo but not if they followed the gen 3 route. Also Specialized luxury tax is bs.

Apparently you weren’t aware that the original priced Oso was a completely disaster when it came to sales for Ibis, so this lower price is just a swing for the fences to get some of their losses back.I would conclude that if Ibis can sell its bike for $6,000, it just means that all the others who sell us bikes for more than $10,000 are taking the piss with their overly exaggerated prices !
I’m just guessing, but I can only image that Specialized sold 50 gen 3 Levo to 1 Oso, so a big difference here and NO comparison.
The Ibis looks like great value to me at $5999 but wouldn’t like to be the dealer left with stock at the old price.
I weigh 100kg but I ride like I am 200kg. That bike wouldn’t last a month with me. The fork and stem are for xc or light riders with finesse . The trails I ride can best be described as rubble with rock rolls and g outs. Let’s be real, it’s a trail bike.
This is not news to anyone by now.
