Some are saying there’s 2 travel options, one being a longer travel version with closer to Kenevo rear travel. I think Spesh is trying to replace two bikes in one go, the outgoing gen 3 and the discontinued Kenevo.
Kind of like what Crestline has done. Same front triangle and 2 different options for the rear triangle/ linkage.

I wonder what happens to this thread when Specialized *actually* announces... It will be strange to start discussing the actual specs on page 60! :ROFLMAO:

Crestline made it even easier, no need to change linkages or the rear triangle. It’s based off of a 230x65 shock, you get 161mm travel with the flip chip in ST or 182mm travel with it in LT. You want less travel? Reduce the shock down to 230x62.5 and you’ll get 172mm with the flip chip in LT or 151mm with it in ST. It doesn’t get any easier than that!
 
Curious if ti will have the charger standard ? or stick to the current specialized plug thing.

Also after watching this I am really starting to like the Bosch Gen5 more and more. And the Vala.
really hope the new motor is better (not power, don't care about that) but the way power is delivered as per the video below.

Sounds even better than I thought. Crestline HQ is 2.5 hrs north of me and my LBS across the street from where I work, has them in stock.

Except there is a different rear triangle per wheel size.
 
Except there isn’t. There are only 27.5 and 29 rear triangles based on their store page to give users the flexibility to swap between MX and 29er. I’m assuming they have different pivot locations on the main frame for the different frame sizes. Same thing that Santa Cruz does and probably some others with one piece rear triangles to keep manufacturing costs down.
Isn’t that what I just said? Last time I checked, there are only two different wheel sizes, just like you pointed out.
 
If we charge the battery pack after your Levo ride or Vado ride or after your e-bike ride as fast as we technically can, so it's charging in like an hour to full every day, you're just aging your battery pack way quicker. Meaning two years into it, you may have 20 % less capacity that you would have by slow charging.
Good point! The velomotion test showed that the 600 Wh battery failed in their stress test. People don't realize that current battery technology ages faster the more stress you put on it. Meaning fast charge and decharge with high voltage. At some point the BMS will just switch off the whole pack to protect it from being damaged irreversibly so that its dead.
 
So with brose peak drive 3 bike must look similar to this

I hope that they took all this time to refine this ... so it could be better/different.
 
Some media stuff on pinkbike. I imagine this is the start of stuff relating building up to the launch. It was the same when they launched the stumpjumper 15 last year.

Same thoughts, not mentioned levo Gen 4 for purpose and a lot of talking around engineering emtbs blablabla. But indirectly confirmed Brose peak 3.
My bet is Thursday announcement.

If they've gone this way, it just seems so deflating and uninteresting compared to what they were doing :-(

The "Other" bike .. just read like a cheaper alternative to the Levo Gen 4 they were going to introduce to compete with cheaper brands.

Oh well, lets hope that being Spesh they manage to add something magical to the recipe.
 
Will have to be similar to that if there using that drive system and battery. Same rear design as SL
They will likely only use the motor. Battery (and all the other stuff) will probably be Specialized’s own design.
 
Choosing Brose peak3 will leave the Levo as another "run of the mil" ebike .
Modern motor but nothing special as gen5 weighs less and will have more or the same power after the upcoming update,not to mention DJI.
I expect Specialized to introduce something a bit more unique. Very close to finding out...
 
It is refreshing to see this forum back on track with the Levo Gen4 Levo specs and timing being the focus. I concur, the Pinkbike podcast seems to have indirectly confirmed that Brose will remain the motor platform presumibly the Peak 3 motor (which dispenses with the prior DJI speculation, thankfully). I am hopeful that we will see or hear somthing sooner, rather than later. As I recall the new Stumpjumper 15 was leaked w/ spy photos by Specialized in the early spring, with the unveiling following in April at Sea Otter? I believe the same was true of the Levo SL2 the prior spring? So maybe some spy photos will emerge soon. So early summer 25' dealer availability might be the best case scenario? I have no insider information, just speculating like the rest of anxious US consumers.
 
It’s interesting, specialized has kinda been showing something like a tier system in their product line. On one side you have the stumpy 15 ,epic and enduro. On the other you have the Chisel and the status 140/170. I would love a full power status 170 based e bike. On a side note, have you noticed status 140 and 170 use the same front triangle?….. just saying.

The SJ15 was unveiled last June/early July. Don’t think there were any spy shots beforehand. There was just some build up on pinkbike with a podcast like the above talking about bike development and then a week later the first ride articles started popping up on the news sites.

I assume we will see a full unveiling in the next week or two.

I think this guy showed me some hidden ucsc trails a couple years back. We have the same wrap on our bikes

Pic from the PB article. Anyone else think it's conveniently cropped? To me that doesn't look like the usual TCU. Looks more like a screen inset into the toptube. Or perhaps I've been around this thread too long and need a break :D

I see a left hand brake cable & probably a dropper cable but I don't see a mode controller switch cable.
Could it be a wireless mode controller? Is the pic an E-bike?
