I have been riding ebikes for 6 years now and I am always at full power and everyone I ride with is the same.

But do you need more power?

If I rode everywhere on full power then I’d only make it about a third of the way around the ride.

It’s exactly why they should give battery options… bigger the better for me so I can do longer rides.

Max I can get out of Levo currently is 6000ft and 32 miles

99% of times I’m either in eco or trail mode, and I have my trail mode to max 80%.
Full power only in very particular situations where I really need it, when you are uphill in turbo mode things can get out of control really fast. Eco and trail are more then enough

I don’t really see the issue, the DJI has just got a load of power available at times but it’ll drain the battery if it’s used. Who’s actually riding an Amflow with full power all the time? Or a Levo for that matter?

For me the current Levo is more than powerful enough, it just needs more battery so can use it more of the time.

Either way, I wouldn’t look at the Amflow because of the lightweight build and tbh if I’m tanking down something really rocky at speed I want to be on something I can trust. Specialized know how to make bikes.
Same for me, I really want a bigger battery, and a better display. All the rest is a nice to have. With the current gen3 I was able to do 120km and 2200m of elevation on one go.

I ride the Levo in Turbo all the time. That said, I don’t need more power; the Levo is powerful enough for me.

It would be really great if DJI/Amflow wasn’t in every thread, especially one about the Gen 4 Levo…

Realistically, not everybody wants more power, otherwise there’d be no market for the SL versions, whatever the Gen 4 looks like it’s likely to be an improvement on the Gen 3 otherwise what’s the point?

Specilaized warranty and care is supposed to be something worth having as well, I only say that as I’ve never needed to use it which is a good thing in itself.

I like the DJI/Amflow, but it’s not competing with everything, especially something that hasn’t even come out and the majority of us know nothing about spec wise.

What setting were you using? I assume eco. But what setting in eco?
That’s a massive ride.
Don't discount what you can do on a bike if you just use it to give you that tiny push when you need it ..

This was Bosch (Focus Jam2 6.9 - stock), but you could do the same on a Brose - though I never have on mine. Was going for 5k climbing, but whilst I still had enough battery maybe (would have been cutting it close) I didn't have the physical ability and had to abort.

Was constant up down with relatively small climbs, so gives you time to re-charge/get your stamina back.

Wanted to do it again, but it was so horrible - I won't ! Short and sweet is best 🙃 For me anyway.

I guess this will get way easier with something like the Gen4 fully loaded.

So let us summarize what we suspect to be the new bike spec, revisions and timing of the 2025 Levo Gen 4 (according to what we can extrapolate from this forum and on-line).
2025 Specialized Levo Gen 4 Carbon first (available in S-Works and Pro Carbon)?
- Brose Drive Peak3 motor, 95 NM. beltless, slightly more compact and quieter?
- Improved power delivery firmware?
- 48 V Battery, side removable (like Trek). This will minimize or eliminate the Levo frame "bump". Hopefully, available in two sizes, somthing like 672W and 890W?
- Likely 170mm travel front/rear ?
- Mullet setup
First available in S-Works and Pro Carbon versions
late summer 2025?
colors?
Component Spec- Sram transmission drivetrain, Maven brakes
Feel free to comment,l provide insights and speculate!

$9k?! Where are you buying your bikes from?! I bought a S-Works frame for my wife’s build for £5200 and that was back before all the big sales started happening, bikes in the UK are generally more expensive than in the US too.
Retail in the USA is 8,500 and not 9,000.............

I don’t think it will have a brose motor in the Gen 4

Pretty sure that’s all but been confirmed. Especially considering the delays Brose admitted to on the new motor system perfectly coincide with the delay of the Levo launch.

The weight and the whole package is interesting. Amflow basically made the current gen light and full power emtb range obsolete.

The bigger battery trend is not ideal for aggressive trail riding. Its no coincidence many bosch bikes are specced with the smaller battery.

Plus 600 wh isn't really small. I once did like 2500m elevation on my e8000 504wh battery.

Specialized will only be in trouble IF the Avinox system starts being shipped on more bike brands. Otherwise, the only people knowing about it will be enthusiasts like us, and we are very few in this emtb market, most average consumers don't even know the difference between a Bosch / Shimano / Brose motor. The same thing goes for the new Bosch Gen5 launch. Indeed, it seems 'outdated' compared with the Avinox system, but since there are no bikes available and the bosch system is everywhere, they will not be affected at all even if the battery is heavier and has less power.
Competition and innovation are great, don't get me wrong I think the DJI system is amazing, I would trade my Turbo Levo for an AMFlow without thinking twice. :ROFLMAO:
Bosch/Brose for sure will look at that Avinox system and will use it as a benchmark for the next GEN, but at the time, I don't think they are yet a threat even tho their system is in paper way better. Hope this changes tho.
ebikes are more than motor or kashima parts. Some people still appreciate how the bikes rides or looks. I ride trails and bikeparks, there's no need more power for me, or why would someone need a touch screen on a bike? I wouldn't buy bike with chinese motor, or ugly bike like Amflow. Why it would matter that you have fastets bike from 0km/h to 25km/h? Look at me, I fast on fireroad going up 😂

Levo will not ever have side removable battery for two reasons: It's ugly and unreliable. Those are also reasons why new Trek don't have it.

There a post from a user here who has seen the bike that alludes to the new battery mounting being a kin to an updated Rail. There was also another comment previous to that from another user also mentioned a side removable battery.

updated rail doesn't have side loaded battery...so this is little confusing...

You know what would really make a splash? The new Specy with DJI motor! : ))
Sorry guys! But all these DJI requests are starting to get annoying. Anyone who knows a bit about Specialized knows that they never rely on an existing system. Therefore, the DJI is obsolete.

And if the rumors are true and the new Brose with Specialized software delivers >100Nm, the topic is history anyway…

This will just confuse things more :) but if that's the case, this might not be the thread for you ..
Why? I'm interested of what kind of bike there comes since I'm big Specialized fan. But I think it's amusing that some people think that there's no future for bike brands without DJI motor. Or that Taiwan/USA owned bike company would use chinese motors.
