Let’s See Your Levo

Swapped out the Command post for a Fox Transfer and went back to clipless pedals with my old xtr 970’s. The flats were ripping up my legs!

Nice looking bike!

How's the clearance for the rear wheel with that sicomtb fender?

I have just recently fitted one there are 2 problems I have encountered so far.

1. you need to trim the plastic to stop the chain rubbing against it no big deal.

2. This is a more serious issue on really muddy days gloop builds up between the wheel and mudguard and actually causes a lot of friction especially when on the uphills. It got so bad that walk mode couldn’t turn the wheel. (Motor got very warm) I had to take off the wheel and clean it all up. A bit of a pain when you have spent £50 on a mudguard. To add further insult the Motor housing gap was still full of mud. Clearance is definitely too tight.

On more normal rides where it is just a bit wet there have been no massive issues.

£50 is a total rip off & the clearance issue is not good!!

Nice Caddy! Sportline rims? (Nice bike also of course).

My 2018 Comp Carbon, only stock parts left are frame and crank arms. Riding Poland right now so have have the stock 27.5 rims on with + tires on as it is extremely dry and sandy here at the moment - Usually riding 29ers Roval carbon wheels.

Base Turbo Levo. Added my old Rock Shocks dropper while waiting for my new Oneup dropper.

I'm interested in getting a base Levo,I've read in a few places that people are unimpressed with the spec of the bike for the 4k you pay for it, what do you think?

I have the base spec 2019 Levo, and I agree the spec is not as good as some of the competition, but I've tested most of the other motors out there and the Specialized Brose motor is far and away the best of the lot - it is the most powerful, the quietest and has the smoothest power delivery. In fact I feel a bit sorry for all those high end bike brands that aren't able to specify it, and so have to use the Shimano motor.

After all, the motor is really the reason you are buying an EMTB . . . .

I have tried other bikes in the same price range, Canyon, Treks and Cannondale.
To me Specialized offers a number of things no one else does:
150mm suspension with 29” wheels.
Nice integration with mobile, ie Blevo app,.
The best engine of them all.
Possible to fit the largest battery there is, 700wh.

What I am not so pleased with but didnt come as a surpise:
No dropper
Bad fork
Cheap wheels

For 800€ I can get the best fork there is.
For 180€ I get the best dropper.
Only the two most expensive models in the range have better wheels.
So for the same price as a Comp I get a better bike imho.
